New Latitudes Platinum Member - Early embarkation question

I just became Platinum.

With the early embarkation, how does that work?

When arriving at port - do you go to a different section in the terminal?

Do you go after Haven and back to back cruisers?

How early do you suggest to arrive?

I am thinking of trying for Vibe pass - just want to know best way to do it.

Thanks.

I just did 3 NCL cruises in March. There is a separate line for latitudes, like there always has been. Don't get too excited. It's isn't that difficult getting these levels and there are Thousands of people who qualify.

If the pass is important, then be there early

We are Platinum Plus and returned two weeks ago from a cruise out of New Orleans. There were lines there for Latitudes but it wasn't too long. The important thing is that after you use the shortest line you are eligible for to get your boarding pass, look for the special seating section for Platinum. We were told NOT to get a boarding group number as our status boarded us before those groups. In NOLA, we boarded right after Haven as soon as the ship was cleared for boarding. We did have to show our boarding card showing our status to the gentleman who was overseeing the special area.

Sand and Seas, on our February cruise from NOLA, the first week Platinum Plus came into existence, the special area was for plat plus only - no platinums. There were only 18 of us so when they called suites our "keeper" just ushered us in with them. After we had checked in, a staffer ushered us directly to the assigned area. May have changed since then, but we will find out on Sunday - woohoo

In NYC it goes Haven, CAS, Latitude, then numbered groups.... interested in knowing if CAS is still boarded after Haven in terminals that do not have a specific CAS lounge (like Boston) but have CAS passengers. .

I think that was correct for us too but no one really showed us where to go. They said there was a sign and we took some seats close to it. After a little while we realized there was a 'keeper' for about 20 seats and asked if that's where we were supposed to be as Platinum Plus. He checked our cards before letting us into that little roped off area. It seems most of the employees there didn't really understand it yet, but the 'keeper' did!.

As Platinum Plus, we boarded right after Haven but I got the impression that Platinum would be after us. There were only about a dozen of us in the P Plus seats.

As far as platinum seating it depends on the port.

The group that can skew boarding are the casino guests. On our recent cruise, nearly 11% of the passengers were casino guests. The week before, nearly 25% were casino guests. Can't really tell what percentage of early boarder are casino guests.

Lots of land based casinos give out cruises and they all count toward casino guests (I.e., don't have to be booked directly with CAS).

Walk through the casino and see how many people have drink cards on embarkation day.

so true about variance by port.NOLA has a small private area that is used for havens and suites. Other groups like CAS, PLat plus, are in cordoned off areas usually with a keeper. Our keeper was very serious about keeping it PP only - kind and of funny in a way. She didn't allow non-PP traveling companions to enter, either. But it was too be "exclusive" even if you were not a suite or haven occupant. In case you are out of NO and don't see the spot, it was next to the doorway that you enter to board the ship. You may just have to look. There was an escort to the area caring an NCL placard but she wasn't always very visible.
