Just off escape 2nd time some thoughts

Just got off the Escape for 2nd time. Not a review but some thoughts and tips

We used the Norwegian bidding system to upgrade, and upgraded from an inside to an AFT balcony for much less then doing it thru a travel agent

Used Uber to travel to and from hotel, and to ship, more than half the cost of cabs, and newer cleaner cars

Embarkation, debarkation, and getting off for islands were painless. Got to port at noon, and walked right on after checking in. And no line to check in

Only ate in dining room 3 nights. Savor and Taste took FOREVER. Waited soooo long between courses. Manhatten room was so much better

Drink Package again was awesome. Drink as much as you want, and no issues.

Remember O'Sheehans is open 24/7. Good food, good service at all times of the day

Margarittaville has breakfast, eggs, coffee, jusice cereals etc if you want to avoid crowds

The shows and the comedians were sub par. I have been on many cruises, and honestly, the shows were not that good. Rat Pack kept my interest along with Howl at the Moon.

If you want to walk, the track on deck 17 very crowded. Go to deck 8 and walk almost all around the whole ship. You do need to go thru some doors on the front end, but a much nicer walk, much closer to the water. And not crowded.

80's deck party and the GLOW party was AWESOME if you like music.

Lastly, try and find the following three bar tenders and tell them John and Brenda miss them and say hi:

Raahmel at the vibe bar, Yadz at the Margaritaville bar during day, then casino bar at night., and lastly, Rowina at the casino bar. All the bar tenders are awesome, but Yadz, Raahmel and Rowina are FANTASTIC!!!!:hearteyes::hearteyes:

Was your upgrade to an Aft balcony or the Aft Suite/Haven? Sounds really nice!

What was the Rat Pack? (a new show??)

Thanks for sharing your observations and thoughts. Going back on the Escape in two months and counting the days:D

We were on the Escape last week also and did see the Rat Pack. Really good show based on The breakfast club movie. The show, singers are tight and it's not a new show.

We did eat at Savor ,Taste and Manahttan for a total of 6 times and had no issues for service. We were impressed how kick the service was, I always take 2 appetizers and never had to wait long between them.

We just booked it for the last week in September. I am hoping that the timing is good with kids back to school. Got the drinks and dining package. How many meals does the dining include? Every night we get the speciality dining ? Should we make reservations in advance?

The basic pakg offers 3 dinners that you can book I think about a month before sailing. But remember that 2/3 off the dinning schedule is offer at boarding day so be quick. It's the time for shows and dinners planning for the week.

Oh I didn't know that. I will book my three dinners in advance but then run (at boarding) to get the 2/3 off other nights? Do they have a price breakdown for what it normally costs ? I can try and look it up somewhere.

So you misunderstood the 2/3 comment. First, you are able to make reservations 90 days out. Regarding the 2/3, they are saying NCL holds back 2/3 of the available time slots for reservations. This means there will be reservation slots available for cruisers once they board the ship. Hope that helps. 😀

ASAP once on board ship, even the 2/3 dinner & show reservations will disappear quickly!

as far as booking shows, I have sailed the Escape twice as I mentioned, first time, reserved a couple shows and comedians. but noticed you can get in almost every time 10 minutes before show without reservations. I have NO issue seeing any show I wanted this sailing, with no reservations

The show is For the Record - Brat Pack... not rat pack. Totally different kind of music.

Just to clear things

In the SupperClub it's the DinnerShow with The company men and it's free

And the Escape theater it's The Brat pack.
