I'm one of those "loyal Royal" cruisers.... and I'm headed to the NCL Escape in a few weeks.... I doubt that I'll be a convert but I really hope it's as great as Yorkvillian and CruiseLifeRick have said....

It is.....September will be cruise # 30 for me and for the third consecutive time I'll be cruising on the Escape. It'll be the only ship I have sailed three times on, with three different itineraries.

beer challenge?

At the brew house on the Escape there is a contest to see who can drink the most different draft pints, bottles and cans of beer over the course of the cruise. There is a leader board for that week and all time. I think the high number was around 85, but I'm sure I will be corrected if wrong.

I do have the UBP(free upgrade so awesome) and mom bought us the 3 meal dining package as well as a Christmas gift. So it has to be different beer bc I can easily drink 85 beers total on a 7 day cruise. Might be hard to do if different beers because I'm not a fan of ipa.

It is different beers, and remember the drafts are pints, not 12 oz bottles, so that adds 1/3 more volume and of course they do have many IPA's.

There are also several that are over the package limit - Chimay comes to mind - so you may have to "invest" to win.

Nice to hear that Doug is going "home". Will there be a sequel to his first Escape journey and live report? Will a certain person take more or less naps this time?

My wife and I dug up Doug's Escape review from January after reading about it here. I, for one, hope he decides to do a sequel. His writing is great.

Thankx for entertaining review... went on Escape last Feb, totally enjoyed the Vibe.

 

Have heard rumors that they will be boarding differently, just getting there early will not get you a #1. Priority boarding will be given to Upper Latitude Levels. This will make it even harder to get Vibe Passes.

 

 

Upper tier Latitude members already get priority boarding, which allows them priority access to Vibe passes. This is nothing new.

Actually, this former boy scout remembers flag etiquette....and flag clothing is against that code....see: https://www.legion.org/flag/code, #8J, respect for the Flag, or http://www.military.com/flag-day/flag-ettiquette-dos-and-donts.html, which states

I can promise you my shorts were never an actual American flag. I think that is the gist of the rule. Otherwise, 90% of the US population is in violation on Independence Day. FYI...I was also a Boy Scout and will continue to represent my country proudly by wearing Red, White and Blue.
