Carnival Liberty 4 day Bahamas-Chef night/Elegant night?

Have a 4 day cruise booked in November and curious. There is only one sea day on this cruise. We always book the Chefs table but its been on longer cruises with multiple sea days. Has anyone done the Chefs table on Liberty during a 4 day trip? Will it be the same night as Elegant night or do they do it during one of the port days?

After some more googling I found a somewhat consensus that Elegant night will be on the 2nd night of a 4 day cruise. Is there anyone that's been on the 4 day cruise to Freeport and Nassau out of Port Canaveral able to verify this? Seems a bit odd since we're in port that day until 5pm and early dining would be at 6pm.

I went on a 4 day cruise on Liberty going to Nassau and Freeport in June, our elegant night was the second day which on my cruise was the Sea day. My cruise was Port Canaveral, Sea day, Nassau, Freeport.

Thanks so much for the replies. Unfortunately it looks like we'll be traveling the opposite route. Our itinerary calls for Port Canveral, Freeport, Nassau, Seaday, Port Canaveral.

So I guess I'm still not positive. It would make sense that they would have elegant night on seaday but with our seaday on the fourth day...well....

I'm most concern with which night the Chefs table will be on. Either of them on a port day would be no Bueno.

  • 3 weeks later...

I am looking for answer to same question as we are doing Liberty in January. I am guessing it won't be last night because of luggage going out that evening. And, it won't be first night because not everyone has luggage.

I just got off the Liberty 4-day Bahamas 2 weeks ago and there was definitely an Elegant Night on day 2. There always has been on all of my 4-day cruises (been on 6!). I didn't see the Chef's Table offered at all, however, which struck me as odd because I've always seen it on previous cruises. Maybe they don't do it on those shorter Bahamas cruises?

This will be my second 4-day Bahamas cruise on Liberty in December. Not sure what our elegant night was last year. But I can say that we will be attending the chef table on this upcoming cruise. So yes they do have it on the 4 day cruises.

Thank you! Was your sea day the last night? I want to book Steakhouse but not miss out on Elegant night in dining room.

The reason I asked this question is so we can plan out port calls accordingly. We will be in Freeport on our second day and plan to spend the day fishing and have our catch prepared by locals for a late lunch. I do not want to book a "food" activity in port on the same night as the Chef's table. I currently have the flexibility to change this excursion to either port call. If Elegant night is indeed the second night (which appears to be the consensus) then that will work fine for us. We'll prob be too tired to mess with elegant night after a day on the water in the sun and won't mind skipping it. This should work fine for us.

Of course we're assuming they wouldn't dare do Chef's table and Elegant night on the same evening..... would they? LOL

We're just off the Liberty 3-night cruise today. I know it's not the 4-night, but just wanted to mention that our cruise had Elegant night on day 2 (Nassau) and Chef's Table on day 3 (sea day/last night). Chef's Table was worth every penny, and if you have questions about the menu, fire away. I have the menu right here. :)

Also, Liberty had some cool experiences that I've not seen before in 20+ Carnival cruises: we were randomly tapped to head in to the galley in the early evening on Elegant night and have the Sous Chef talk us through the menu and let us sample 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, and 2 desserts. Yum! It was very personal - just our party of 3. We had just returned from Nassau and were enjoying fruity cocktails in the lobby when the Maitre d' asked us to come back. We were also (randomly?) selected to be escorted to the bow of the ship (through the crew areas) during the arrival in to Nassau. There was a complimentary drink station (mimosas, bloody mary's, water, soda, etc), senior staff to chat about Nassau's history, and a ship's photographer. I have no idea what we did to rate the invites, but they were pretty amazing!

I did this same itinerary on the Sensation out of Port Canaveral. Elegant night was the second night.

From reading reviews of other cruises, Chef's Table can definitely be the same night as Elegant night. Not knowing ahead of time which night Chef's Table will be is what is keeping me from booking it. I love the appetizers served in the MDR on the first Elegant night.

Cruise Elegant night isn't too dressy. DH wears Khakis, Hawaiian shirt and a pair of dark leather walking shoes. I'll wear black slacks and a pretty top. Some men will wear jackets or ties, rarely both.

I am booked for Liberty 4 days to Bahamas, and have made reservations for the chef table, we are really excited about that. We won't find out til later what night it is. I also hope it's not on elegant night, I love dressing up for that.

I'd love to see the menu! Have reservation for the chef table on Liberty's Dec 3, 4days to bahamas.

As I am terribly incompetent at uploading photos, I'll just list the courses for you, if that works. :) The menu will be personalized for you, and will also have the ship name and date.

Reception:

Mango Sphere, Rosemary Biscuit

Salmon Tartar Cornets, Sesame Seeds

Beef Carpaccio on Air Pillow, Chocolate Bacon, Apple Ribbons

Double Cooked Lamb, Tapioca

Menu:

Beet Blanket, Spiced Grape Tea (Asparagus, Cauliflower, Honey Carrot Tian, Mache, Lemon Streusel)

Crab Stack (Corn Custard, Polenta Cracker, Tangerine, Passion Caviar)

Duck Textures (Creamy Quinoa, Parmesan Churros, Olive Snow, Port Wine Jus)

Bisque Our Way (Two Tomatoes, Three Basil, Crisped Brioche, Garlic Chip)

Sea Bass (Chorizo Crust, Fried Pop Corn Pudding, Lemon Macaroon, Lobster Foam)

Wagyu (Bone Marrow Souffle, Scallion & Garlic Panisse, Gremolata Crisp)

Pastry Chef (Sea Salt Praline Chocolate, Raspberry Mojito, Key Lime Cake, Apricot Vanilla Gel, Citrus Cream)

Everything was just delicious and beautifully presented. You'll have your choice of red or white wine throughout, with champagne to start. I hope you enjoy it - we liked it so much that I think we're doing it again next month on Fantasy - same menu and all! :D
