Yoshikitty Posted August 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2017 Hello, friends will be soon on QM2 and would like to book a limousine Service from Southampton to Central London. He does not like taking the train or bus  So far the offers have been excessive, any recommendations are welcome - thank you!

ToadOfToadHall Posted August 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2017 http://www.smithsairportcars.co.uk/ We used them in June for a transfer from Heathrow to Southampton. £67. Cheap as chips !
DebbieMacG Posted August 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2017 It could be they are getting high quotes if they are using the word limousine. This implies high end luxury vehicle and may attract a premium price. If they simply want a private transfer then that's what they need to ask for. We are also booked with smiths £90 Southampton to Gatwick for an MPV.
LeCommandant Posted August 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2017 You can use Uber. Average price is 145£.

njkruzer Posted August 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2017 We're using Smiths on October for 3 people and luggage, Southampton to Heathrow £85, which I thought was reasonable. A friend recently went from Heathrow with another car service and paid more, 2 people, so this seems reasonable.
ToadOfToadHall Posted August 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2017 Any idea of the cost to London city? Central London you mean ? (not London city airport I assume). I'd guess quite a bit more. It's only about 20 miles more, but a good hour extra. Maybe almost double would be my guess. You can request a quote online on their website. I think a transfer is included in our fare but don't fancy coaches. May consider the train instead. Thinking comfort rather than cost.

Mind you, I get upset carrying a laptop on the train !
DebbieMacG Posted August 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 23, 2017 The words Southern Rail and comfort do not go hand in hand I'm afraid and trains are generally very over crowded. If budget allows a private transfer is the best option.

Rare Scrapnana Posted August 23, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 23, 2017 When I used Smith's from Southampton to central London in 2014 the cost was 112 pounds plus a 10 pound fee for going to central London.
