AZ Ocean Lover Posted October 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2017 I'm a bit confused on this issue. On our last cruise I saw several people hand their cruise card over to the pit boss and ask for $XXX. I heard one ask for $200 and one for $1500 so a lot of variety. They signed a slip and the BJ dealer handed them the cash in chips. My question is how this is recorded on your shipboard account. Does this just come off your OBC if you have enough to cover? skynight Posted October 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2017 The amount is added to your on board account and netted against your account balance. For example, if your account has a $400 credit balance and you ask for $500 in chips your account will then have a $100 debit balance. It is a simple debit/credit transaction. triple7tahoe Posted October 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Some folks put money on their Onboard account prior to the start of the trip and it can be designated for the casino. They have an established "line of Credit' so can sign for chips or cash. As for using OBC, the fine print says you cannot do that but since all is in one big amount on your ship board account it is usually not a problem to do so. I know that is what I have done on my last cruises without a problem.

Steelers36 Posted October 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 24, 2017 How about non-refundable OBC? I would suggest creating some refundable OBC to be on the safe side.

neverbeenhere Posted October 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2017 Please tell me how to do this. The 'win' part [emoji12] I'm sure the "I always win" or the "I pay for my cruise, every time" crowd will chime in very soon to give you the answer to your question. I've read them make these statements time and time again, so I am sure they have the answer.
caribill Posted October 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 24, 2017 You can load "cash" from your on board account onto your cruise card at a slot machine. After using the machine a little, you can put any money left back onto your cruise card and cash it out at the casino cashier window.
