Happy2cruise Posted March 23, 2018 #51 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Thank You, so glad we don’t have to lug them back and forth. But to be sure ask your room steward, he was the one who told us we didn't need to bring them:)
SJCruisers Posted March 23, 2018 #52 Share Posted March 23, 2018 We were on the Crown last week and were not required to bring life jackets to muster. :p:p:p:p:)
Belle Posted March 23, 2018 #53 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Dave Clark is a good CD. Young, upbeat and funny. He's from England. Just cruised with him on a b2b2b. Plus was on a cruise last year with him.
Xtrmflyer Posted March 24, 2018 Author #54 Share Posted March 24, 2018 Can you tell me if life preservers were needed for the muster drill. I have read that on some ships that you are not required to have to drag them along with you anymore. Enjoying your blog as I will be on the Crown April 3.We didn't have to take ours. I'm always getting to muster station at the last possible minute. My friends went early and barely able to get a seat. I was isolated in my room the last night of the cruise. Disembarkation was different. We had to wait in our cabin until 9am the I was wheeled off in a wheelchair. Even though I got sick we still had a great cruise. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
cherylandtk Posted March 25, 2018 #56 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Thank you, any one have an opinion on him.We love Dave! And this from people who cannot recall the names of any of our twenty+ other CD’s. His background in stand-up and improv comes in to play and he is hilarious. rocklinmom Posted March 26, 2018 #57 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Oh man that's awful that you got sick at the end! So sorry. At least you made it through the cruise. Hope you recover quickly and thanks again for taking us along on the Crown with you.

jcpelly Posted March 26, 2018 #60 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Yesterday was Curacao. Wow wow wow. We did !n intro to scuba with CURios2dive. Hans was fantastic. Very safety minded and very patient. We were able to do two dives even though we were beginners. Best excursion ever. The port is under construction so we had a bit of a hike but there was a shuttle if you wanted to wait. When it's done it will be beautiful. Participated in the dancing with stars and came in 3rd. Surprised we got that far. Dinnè was in the buffet. Is was pretty good. Didn't feel like the dining room experience. Watched sail away. Very pretty. First sail away I've done this cruise. Lost a lot of money in the casino. 😥😥 no I won't define lot. Sang some karaoke and had a good time. They put the wrong song up so I improvised. Didn't know you stop them and get the right one. Still had fun. Went to bed and slept great. Went to check the internet and I forgot to logout.😢😢 spoke with Tess and she gave me back my minutes. 😀😀😀 So far having a great time. The Crown may not be the youngest ship but she's still really goo#. Hope I'm not too boring. Nice meeting you guys and agree that Curious2dive is one of our favorite dive companies that we have dove with. Nice touch getting the pictures when we got home. And the hot water shower after the dive was awesome. Jeff & Terri
muti Posted March 26, 2018 #61 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Thank you, any one have an opinion on him. I never remember the names of our CD's -- but Dave Clark is a major exception. He was the CD on a trip I was on in October and would love it if he was on every cruise I took. He is very personable and hilarious. I hope you like/enjoy him as much as all of us did. DrivesLikeMario Posted March 26, 2018 #62 Share Posted March 26, 2018 What was the deal with the ridiculous overhead music and dancing chickens in the buffet? Even the wait staff were making fun of the music, calling it the "aliens landing" music. It was so bizarre! We miss the days when they'd play Enya or just normal tunes. The display of cooked chickens dressed up and dancing to the music was just so weird. We just didn't get it. Other than those two odd things, it was a fantastic cruise! suzyed Posted March 31, 2018 #63 Share Posted March 31, 2018 A few thoughts about yesterday. The ship is fully booked and does not feel crowded at all. The chair hogs are very few so far. Went to see the " Magic to do " show. My feelings are they stole an hour and a half of our time. This a Broadway show not a magic show. If you like singing and dancing you might like it. You have been warned. The two middle pools are full (as opposed to crowded) but you can find a good chair near the spa pool. I love sea days and yesterday was a good one. I didn't do a whole lot and still got 13000 steps. Yea me!! Our room steward Antonio is great. He does his job with real joy. Any requests we've had he happily helps us. The water in out bathroom is weird . We are having a hard time getting the water colder.? I will investigate this phenomenon more and let you know. Got a coffee card and the coffee staff are great. So is the coffee, but I then I like the coffee in the dining room. Thatsvall for now. Will answer questions and gives thoughts tomorrow morning. TTFN You can use your coffee card in the dining room...FYI

suzyed Posted March 31, 2018 #65 Share Posted March 31, 2018 For specialty coffees (using a punch), not for free fresh brewed. Well I know for sure that is the case as far as specialty coffees, but the poster said she had a coffee card, so I'm assuming that she likes the specialty coffees. caribill Posted April 1, 2018 #66 Share Posted April 1, 2018 Question for the OP: On another thread a poster who was on another ship said that when they asked for a glass of milk at the IC bar, there was a punch required on the coffee card. Do you know if this is now true on the Crown? Don't know if it really is a change on the other ship of if the bar tender did not realize it should be free. doughgal Posted April 24, 2018 #67 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Wondering if the Promenade (or other) deck is marked with signs stating distane around the ship? I like to walk about 5 miles a day (don’t like the tracks, if there is one). Prefer to walk the deck. If you have any info it would be greatly appreciated, we board Saturday in Rome. Thank you in advance.
