Royal Caribbean Visa Signature card rewards redemption

Recommended Posts

On 2/21/2018,I redeemed 25,000 and 5,000 points for a total of $300 of onboard credits for an April 29, 2018 sailing on Allure. They have not yet shown up on my cruise planner.

I checked the email sent from receipt@managerewardsonline.com and confirmed the credit was applied to the correct reservation (it was) and called their (888) 305-4626 number to find why the MyCruise Reward Redemption OB credits have not been applied to my reservation. All I got was vague promise of it will happen at some point but they do not know when and I should just call back. I think that is a poor system; after 5 weeks the $300 should show on my cruise planner?

It will potentially show up 2 weeks before sailing. Previously, it didn't show up at all until you were onboard.

I submitted an order before thanksgiving for our June 17 cruise, it hasn't shown up yet, but I will take my printed confirmation just in case it doesn't.

I will be applying Signature Visa credits this week. Do you get a confirmation you can print up to take with you on cruise when you do this on line. I hate spending cruise time trying to get OBC supposed to get. Had other cruises where this was never taken care of till cruise over.

Yes, you should get an email saying the points have been redeemed. The email won't say the money has been credited to your on board account, it will only say the points have been redeemed and what they have been redeemed for i.e. OBC or cruise discount. The email will also have your ship, sail date, etc.

They apply the redemptions in order of cruise date. Could be they are unusually busy and have not got to your cruise yet. If you don't see the OBC before your cruise, be sure to carry a hard copy of your redemption email.

If the redeemed $300.00 OBC shows up on my cruise planner prior to 4/29/18, can these credit card rewards be used on pre-cruise purchases or must the OBC be used only when on the ship?

The OBC can be used for purchase ahead of time, you do not have to wait until you're on the ship.

Visa points OBC can be used pre-cruise, as long as it shows up at least 3 days before the cruise.

I am cruising in 2 weeks...kinda forgot about my reward points...is it too late to redeem?

You can probably still redeem, but you might want to contact the redemption people to make sure: 888-305-4626.

Thank you, that is what I thought.

Not to come off as a jerk, but this having to "wait and see" when the credits show up on my planner thing is very aggravating. I redeemed my points on 2/21/18 and today is 4/2/18. I cruise to relax, not stress about my credit showing up because "maybe the redemption staff is backed up". I would like to use my OBC to book excursions before the cruise via my planner. In my opinion this is very unprofessional for both the credit card company and Royal Caribbean.

I would say this is all on RC, the credit card company forwards the redemption to RC immediately.

Ideally how long before a cruise should I redeem my points? Years ago I thought they expired so many days after redemption....

Also, if you change a reservation the points are linked to, say to a different ship and date ,will the points redeemed transfer also?

Thank you for the information!

I try to redeem a month or so before the cruise. I feel like if it's too far in advance and I have to cancel, I will lose the redemption. Depending on the redemption type, the redemption should stay with the booking.

I have never seen the points expire after redemption. Sometimes I use the points for a discount on my cruise fare. I usually redeem those 3 months before final payment date and have not seen them expire that far out. Points do expire 60 months from when they were earned.

I agree completely - I redeemed mine in February for May and I am checking every day to see when it will show up - I also called and got the same story - they said if it doesn't show up 2 weeks before to call :o

Said could point could be redeemed 7 days before a cruise. If a family or medical emergency occurred (we have travel insurance and this does happen as my mother in law passed on the original sail date for my last cruise which we later rebooked). If cruise is cancelled you lose the OBC do't you. That is what I gathered from the terms. Love to hear differently as is what is delaying me from redeeming too early. But change in situation with 2 elderly parents and health issues ourselves can happen rapidly. It would be nice if OBC visa credit was not permanently lost.

What happens to any unused OBC that you received by redeeming credit card points?

Do you lose them or get to cash?

If you have OBC from RCI which will they use first the RCI OBC or the credit card OBC?

Thanks in advance.

They are supposed to use non-refundable OBC first.

Visa points OBC is fully refundable, get it in cash on the last day, or they will credit it to the credit card you have on file for your onboard account.

Thank you for this information. Could I also go to casino, register my Sign Sail card ar a slot machine add on any OBC and cash out? I was able to do this on MSC in February since we had so much OBC and certainly wasnt going to use since in YC and cashed out on the third day or so ans used the cash on excursions.

Just want to know if I can do the same on Allure.

Thanks.
