pandaball Posted May 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Hi all- I'd like to try Wonderland on Harmony this fall- are the dishes served family style, or could a solo diner manage ok? Thoughts?

You could, but it's much more fun with other people.
Merion_Mom Posted May 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Sorry but what’s wonderland? A specialty restaurant. https://eatsleepcruise.com/2017/06/wonderland-harmony-of-the-seas-review/
maryjaden Posted May 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2018 I think it would be more fun as a group, but see no reason why you couldn't do it solo. I have been there with family, but if I were on a cruise solo I would definitely do it alone. Check with your Roll call and see if there is a group you could join otherwise I would do it alone. I loved it.
BekkaW Posted May 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2018 It’s better if you can try a variety of things. We went as a couple and still didn’t try everything so I figured you can go with a group it’s better
Rare little britain Posted May 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2018 I would not go as a solo, as so many dishes, variety of dishes and flavours. Best to get a s lotion so you can taste many different things. Perhaps you could share with others from your roll call? I travel solo too, and wanted to go to the Mexican restaurant...same thing...too many dishes for a solo to enjoy....I got together a group of 16 and I think we had everything on the menu and a great evening! JezzaC Posted May 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2018 I went to Wonderland as a solo. They adjust the portion size based on how many eaters are on the table so I just got smaller portions.
VillaHappy Posted May 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 12, 2018 One of my friends was on the new Symphony, and was not allowed to eat in Wonderland as a solo.
pandaball Posted May 12, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted May 12, 2018 Sounds like it might vary by ship then? I could check with the DL concierge when I get on board, I guess. Is that something they can help with? This will be only my second cruise as a Diamond.

If you want to dine at Wonderland on Harmony, I doubt that they will have any problem with it.
Rare JamesEM Posted May 13, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 13, 2018 As a thought, join the M&M group for your cruise and ask if any one would like to join you for dinner and make it a group event.
TheGrandSnackoneer Posted May 13, 2018 #13 Share Posted May 13, 2018 When I went alone the waiter specifically told me he'd ask the kitchen to choose the smallest cut of short rib they could find. That being said he still brought out 6 appetizers, the main I ordered, another fish main he thought I'd like (he was right, the fish with coconut rice was ridiculous) and then he insisted on dessert. Was I dying? Yes but it was my Everest and I'd still go again because it was delicious.
JezzaC Posted May 13, 2018 #14 Share Posted May 13, 2018 One of my friends was on the new Symphony, and was not allowed to eat in Wonderland as a solo. Sounds really weird since they take single bookings to all restaurants and even have single supplement and cabins for singles. If that happened to me I would ask manager right away. LisaAtlCruiser Posted May 13, 2018 #15 Share Posted May 13, 2018 I went to Wonderland as solo on Harmony and enjoyed it. The only thing too large for me to finish was the desert - but the part I did eat was fabulous!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
LisaAtlCruiser Posted May 13, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 13, 2018 One of my friends was on the new Symphony, and was not allowed to eat in Wonderland as a solo. I think there is likely more to the story than this. They were likely booked that night. I cruise solo all the time, including on Symphony (got back couple weeks ago) and I have never been told I cannot do speciality dining solo. pandaball Posted May 13, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Thank you Lisa! And a big thank you for everyone's thoughts, especially the solos who have been there and done that. I haven't had good luck with the roll call for any of my previous cruises so I likely won't be going that route but I appreciate the perspective!
