Unfortunately they actually cancelled everyone, and will not be honoring prior pricing. I won't know the total cost increase until I reach their "dedicated support line" on Monday, but I am confident with all the prior perks the price is only going up. I am disgusted with NCL, we had a total of 6 cabins booked and this is likely going to significantly change the per person rate.

For my sister is was 600pp more.

Does anyone know what paragraph in the fine print NCL use to be able to cancel booked cruises just so that they can change the itinerary?

I know that they can change the itinerary and everyone just have to accept it but strange that they can cancel so that they can change the itinerary and sell the new cruise for a higher price.

Very bad business, I no longer trust NCL after over 40 cruises with them.

Did NCL actually give the option to those already booked to retain their reservation, with the revised itinerary, without raising their fare?

NO, they said they were going to cancel their existing reservation and to rebook it was over 600.00 pp

The breakaway out of Nola or the Epic out of Orlando have some very attractive pricing and perk offers around same date as your canceled cruise. With an additional 10% off offer and up to $300 per person for airfare change fees, I’d think if your party could agree quickly on a date you could get a great vacation for potentially less $ than you originally had.

The original sailing isn’t an option anymore and I know it is frustrating but getting furious doesn’t get you the vacation back. I’m saying this from experience. I went ahead with continuing to give Ncl vacation $ and ended up having some fantastic vacations as a result. That worked better for me than walking away angry. Since this actually could happen on any cruise line, swearing off Ncl isn’t going to solve the potential for it to happen again on another line.

If not crazy about Panama Canal sailing I’d forgot about the sun new itinerary. The port fees alone are very high for Canal sailings and there’s nothing Ncl would likely do on those fees.

Good luck and remember you likely have a deadline for working with that displacement department. If you’re still up for sailing with Ncl, best to figure out what sailing alternative is feasible and then call them.

Also best not to trust NCL as changes like this sometimes are a big problem for some.

I understand what you are saying, but their policy is the same as all cruise lines and it does happen. Is it good business? Not for those who are affected, but everyone does have to remember, like the airlines cancellations happen and normally there are no refunds or adjustments made. In some cases yes, but it is rare. Most of us have been affected by air cancellations or changes and have to pay extra for their decision. Even weather related changes are not covered by airlines Twice due to changes we have had to spend an extra night at a hotel. Neither time did the airline offer any compensation.

I don't think that airlines can cancel a flight just because they want to be able to fly somewhere else and sell new tickets for a higher price.

No, they cancel because the plane is not full enough. What is the difference? They still often do this at the last minute which can create havoc for flyers. BTW did NCL ever say, we are cancelling this itinerary cause the ship isn't selling well enough? Of course they didn't.

Let me add, I think this topic has been beaten to death. I know I am not going to read or reply anymore. We are all repeating ourselves or saying the same thing that has been posted time and time again.

that is not always the case, example plane may not be full departing say Atlanta but it is full coming back from Cancun

Been on plenty of outgoing flights that were barely full, when I asked cabin steward why it wasn't canceled it was because the return was full,

I am booked on NCL Epic 10 day December 5 and it seems like its not selling well. Tons of cabins and Haven suites still left.

I sure hope they don't cancel this one too. Seems like they are cancelling the 10 dayers.

I have A LOT of perks for this sailing on top of having airfare booked already. I would be really upset if it comes to cancelling this cruise.

Same situation here with the cancelled cruise and the higher prices on the new itinerary. I have been emailing the senior vice president, who sent us the letter, daily. Her secretary has responded via phone but I am not giving up and would encourage others to do the same. The 10% discount does bring the price close to what it was. Also, the are not honoring my Taxday promotion.

The fact that they wouldn't honor the tax day promotion was what really ticked me off...poor customer service!...we ended up getting a really good casino offer from Carnival so we took that. I'll think long and hard before giving NCL another chance

This kind of posts scares me!

We are ready to book our airline tickets for our cruise in February but they will cost $2000/each (business class Stockholm-Miami-Stockholm) and I should hate to get a mail that our cruise has been cancelled after I have booked the tickets!

Get travel insurance.
