Yes, it seems that while the design is very handy, the build quality and components are less than perfect.

 

We are taking ours to the US before cruising home.  So trying to work out if I'll end up in the naughty room and if I'd bother collecting it if it did get confiscated.

I had a problem first time I used the USB, I had it beside my bed and could smell electric burning smell.  For some reason it appears the USB component has burnt out, luckily I could still use the plug component so could plug charger into that, thank goodness this worked and solved my problem, as it happened on day 1 of my 7 week Europe holiday.   Could have been in a bit of a pickle otherwise.

I take my US adaptor, which is a double point and have never needed more. I also have one for the Euro plugs.

I now just take a US and Euro to double adapter and a multi adapter with a few USB, seems to take care of everything.

I find it easier as they work well and never get questioned.

Our multi plug outlet extender with 2 USB ports works well.

On recent Carnival cruise I had my Aldi board taken at security at Sydney Port and got it back at the end of the cruise

I am surprised they took it, they are usually accepted.

I've done many cruises with my Aldi power "board" - never a problem. I'm using a new one now on mt present cruise, so far so good.
