Is the pool on the Zuiderdam heated ?

Good day all. Can anyone tell me if the pool on the Zuiderdam is heated ? We will be cruising on her in late September on the Canada / New England route.

It will be mildly heated, if Mother Nature doesn't do it.

Because the movable roof over the pool, the sun doesn't get much of a chance to heat the pool. HAL heats the water to about 80 F or 27 C.

The roof is open when it is warm.

As a frequent HAL cruiser I can attest that you will have more then your share of Seniors (including me) on most cruises. If the pool water is warm you will have to ask yourself is it because HAL is heating the pool or is it natural heating given a lot of assistance by fellow passengers :(.

We are sailing for 29 days in August/September with our 9 year old and 11 year old to the Baltic/Transatlantic. Just looking for an update on the Zuiderdam  - reading above, it sounds like they are heated, specifically for pools that children can use, is this still the case re temperature? Also, are there hot tubs in the child friendly area?

Yes, and yes.

I have always found the HAL pools to be too cold for my old bones, but the temperature doesn’t seem to bother many others.

Yes! Reading above, 27c  doesn't seem terribly warm  - especially as we will be in the North Atlantic!

When I cruised Zuiderdam in Alaska, I remember swimming in the covered pool and thinking it felt comfortable.....probably around that 27c mark.
