Best Hotel near Ft. Lauderdale Port

Hello to Maine, all the way from California;

We stayed at the 4 points cruise port hotel last Spring, and while it was OK, easy to get to, and near CVS/Walgreens and other retail shops, it is not for us. Ample free parking and a respectable breakfast is available for not too much $$.   It is called a category 5 by Marriott, which now owns Starwood, etc. and I just can't see how it is more than a 3.  Rates are going for $139 for November dates.

We are booked at The Renaissance on 17th for this November, and I promise to report back.  Those rates have fluctuated, but now are going for $170.  I had seriously considered booking Courtyard by Marriott for its' proximity to the airport and a restaurant called THE RUSTIC INN, but decided for the Renaissance because the car rental kiosk is inside the hotel.

Let us know what you choose, and it you get back before November, report back your findings.  I'll bookmark this thread just in case.

Happy Cruising,

We are big fans of The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.  We have a kitchen in the room/suite.  As well, there are many restaurants nearby within walking distance. Also, Las Olas area isn’t far either.  We walk everywhere when we stay there, no need for a car.  We usually Uber to the port.  Please remember, do your homework wherever you choose to stay.  Go to Trip Advisor and read reviews.  I always read at least the first 12 of any hotel I’m interested in staying at. Have a great trip! 😊
