Tampa Hotel

We will be sailing out of Tampa and looking for suggestions for a hotel for the night before we depart. I have tried the search function here and it's totally useless.

Any hotel suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We love the Marriott Waterside or the Embassy Suites Convention Center.

They are across the street from each other.  Less than a mile from the port, in a lovely area right on the water and the trolley runs steps from the door.

Thank you for info.

The Embassy is booked for our date  and the Mariott is just a little to expensive

Several hotels in the Rocky Point area on the bay offer cruise packages including airport and port shuttles - Chase Suites, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, etc.

Westshore is the area near the TPA airport with lot of hotels, plus drug stores and a mall for last minute shopping and several dining options.  Taxi to the port, if a shuttle is not offered will be about $25-27 or you can Uber for under $20.

Hampton Inn Ybor City is often suggested if you are looking for great dining and some nightlife before your cruise.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place airport using points.  Nice hotel and a couple of dining options nearby.  They have free airport shuttle and a cruise shuttle option for $20 (as I recall) that takes you to the pier for your cruise and then picks you up after the cruise and takes you to the airport (or back to the hotel if you wish) - it was a great service with quick pier pickup (after you call).

Another option is the Airport Marriott.  Its right in the main terminal, just a short walk from the baggage claim (it a multiple level setup at the airport).  Then catch a taxi the next morning or perhaps the cruiseline's transfer.

  • 3 weeks later...

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Rocky Point last December There was a great fish restaurant next door. We had lunch there while waiting for our room to be ready and then went back again that night to try more dishes. Nice water view at both the hotel and restaurant. We took Uber to the Cruise Port in the morning.
