tokidoki Posted November 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2018 need your help, CC community..... I booked an outside on a 5 day caribbean cruise mid-winter and I c that the balconies are only $50 more. I'd love to upgrade, but would love to get some feedback on some great choices! I usually take 8 or 9 deck, just dont wanna be over a noisy promenade or venue. Maybe 9 or 10, could be aft, mid or forward. thanks in advance. PS, a good nights sleep is very important to us
cdnsteelman Posted November 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Just don't pick a stateroom on deck 11 because of the activities on deck 12 including pool, spa, gym, kids club, etc. 10 is a great deck as you're between other stateroom decks but close to all the action. Oldgoat61 Posted November 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2018 We have always picked a cabin on deck 9, aft(Jewel class). As the other poster mentioned, you want a cabin above, and below you. Have been in a mini suite once (deck 11) and loved it, but you run the risk of noise from above, unless you can pick the right cabin. The length of the cruise is a big factor for cabins on deck 11....the longer the better.
zqvol Posted November 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2018 any deck that is between cabins is fine for noise unless it is too far forward (you hear the anchor and docking lines and thrusters) or aft (you hear and feel the engine).
Oakman58 Posted November 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2018 I would jump all over a deal that would get me a balcony for just $50 more regardless of the cabin location, but that's me.
BaWBarmy Posted November 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2018 If it's noise that is the problem then you should also take account of what is opposite your door. Crew areas can be very noisy with crew members in and out for supplies and trollies etc. As well as cabins above and below I'd try and make sure I had one opposite too. We were deck 10 and officially mid-ship but it was more forward.
Rare Peachypooh Posted November 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2018 Deck 10 balconies on the Jade are perfect. Pick one based on your needs. (Near an elevator if you have mobility problems or not near an elevator if you are sensitive to noise for example.)
