Hopefully this will upload. The thing that is on the starboard side is a lounge / entertainment area, according to an article DW read. It can be raised and lowered.

It also does a disco light show. Don't know if you got to see it on the webcam or not.

Sorry the disco lights video of the Celebrity Edge is only 3 seconds long. I wasn't sure of the video file size limit and I didn't want to waste time uploading a longer version to YouTube.

Titanic had a bow like that, I guess the design is making a return for some.

This is a lot rounder than the Titanic's bow.  It kind of reminds me of a cross between an X-Bow and a Straight Bow. (We get a lot of side views of ships as they pass by. )

I have seen neither bow in person so I'll take your expertise on this and thank you. When I saw the straight bow on the front, it reminded me of pictures of the Titanic. Thanks for the link.

From what DW tells me, this bow style is the wave of the future. The new RCCL behemoths and Carnival's upcoming new big ship will sport this style.  It will definitely give more room along the waterline.  There's a bulb on the bow, like you'd normally expect, but it's below the waterline.  We could see it, but we're looking at the ship from around 120 feet in the air.
