winewanderer Posted December 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2018 (edited) Hello everyone, I gained 1 lb. Bummer. Wish I had done better. I was doing so well weight wise about 2 years ago. At least right now I'm not at my heaviest which is 10 lbs. more than I weigh now. Also bummed that I am still trying to lose weight from my Sept/Oct cruise! Jan, small gain. You have been doing well losing the past many weeks. Have a good day everyone, Diana Edited December 27, 2018 by winewanderer

retiring soon Posted December 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 27, 2018 Hi all! Belle ~ thanks for starting the thread & have a nice time. I'm surprised to see that I lost 0.4 lbs!! That's strange with Christmas just over. I did make a Christmas pudding with the brown sugar sauce but took it to a Church function so didn't get to eat much of it, good thing I guess! DIana ~ I am just a smidge below my heaviest & not happy about it. Ideally if I lost 21 lbs I'd be happy but need a change of mindset to do it!! Have a great weekend.& see you next year!! ~ Jo ~ 😊

faerievert Posted December 29, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2018 Trying to use our sudden decision to buy a Feb cruise for motivation to restart my weight loss. I’d gotten down 5 in November after hitting my all-time high, then gotten lazy again when a bunch of life stuff turned upside down. I managed to keep it off at least, but I was totally stalled out. Thrilled to be down 1 lb since we booked. I seem to snack less when my brain is in overdrive planning something fun. Goal is to try to drop another 5 by sail away on Feb 3, and keep up at least a 2lb/mo pace after returning. Thanks for the motivation fellow cruisers!
shootr Posted December 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2018 I've been off the wagon long enough, 2 months or so, so using the new year as a new start. Going to go low/zero carbs and processed foods, starting to ease into it today. With my new found love for my smoker, tasty proteins won't be a problem. Stayed up all night doing a beef brisket (on sale at Costco for $2.99/lb) so I have 10lbs of perfect meat (at 80 calories/oz) to start things off with. But it'll be the 8/16 fast schedule (eat between 11am-6pm), coffee, salads, cheeses, and that's about it. The gym has been a savior, getting there 5+ times a week for cardio and weights. Getting off the carbs for a while, I'm hoping to see good results.

I've sabotaged myself by being overly ambitious in my goals in the past. This time I'm staying modest with my expectations to set myself up for success. Slow and steady. It's been gain ten, lose five, gain ten, lose five ... for too many years now. Gotta break the cycle because I know it's only going to get harder the longer I keep up this pattern. Belle Posted January 1, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted January 1, 2019 No one around? Am I the only one sitting home doing nothing? I'm just being lazy and watching TV. Can't do any work because New Year's Eve and Day is a Holiday. Right? Cheers!🍷
winewanderer Posted January 1, 2019 #13 Share Posted January 1, 2019 Hello Belle, Welcome back. Glad you had fun during your time away and with your family. We had a quiet New Year's Eve. Lazy is ok, as you say it's a holiday. I'm trying to be good eating wise. Diana
Belle Posted January 2, 2019 Author #14 Share Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) Good Morning! Are you starting a better eating plan today after eating maybe more for the holidays? Yes Diana suppose to be lazy for the holidays if you don't have anything planned. It's a law you know. Edited January 2, 2019 by Belle

Shellbelle28 Posted January 2, 2019 #16 Share Posted January 2, 2019 Hoooo boy! I gave myself permission to eat however and whatever I wanted the last two weeks of the year. And the result was not too bad up through the day after Christmas. But it seemed as though the eating from then until New Year's was a big ole binge. Frankly, I didn't feel that great and I'm ready to stop, so that's good. I've gained 5 pounds since my last weigh in. Hoping it goes fast! I read something yesterday I am encouraged by. "It’s not what you eat between Christmas and New Years, it’s what you eat between New Year’s and Christmas." Michelle
