Carnival: Casino Cash vs Fun Play

I currently have a Premier Cruise booked for May of this year.  This is my first Premier Cruise and I understand there are a lot of nice perks with this cruise.  The main reason I decided on this offer was that it includes $1,000 in Casino Cash.  Now I am looking at the current offers for Premier Cruises later this year.  All of these offers include different denominations of "Fun Play".  For those of you who are more experienced than I, what is the difference between Casino Cash and Fun Play? I mostly play the slots but modestly mess around with roulette.  I greatly appreciate any clarification you might be able to offer.  Thank you for your help.

Cash Cash is paid to you in actual "cash' in hand by the casino host. From there you may spend it or not spend it as you please. You don't have to use it for gambling. You don't have to spend it at all.

Fun Play is basically a casino credit for the amount quoted to you in your casino offer..for example $1000 in your case. It may only be used in the casino. You don't get the cash in hand. The amount will be loaded on to your sail and sign card as a casino credit and it's a use it or lose it situation. You can't cash the Fun Play out but you can cash out your actual winnings. Hope that makes sense. Good Luck!

"Casino cash" may not be cash anymore especially on premiers.  They can opt to load it on your card same as FunPlay.  Last two Premiers I was on, they mostly preloaded cards, no cash.  Hosts walked the long line and diverted people to check their accounts.

I have done a number of Premier and Getaway cruises and received my cash the first night, but our Miracle cruise in April I will have $500 in Funplay.  I contacted the Carnival Players Club to ask how Funplay worked and didn't receive a very clear response. Do I understand from this thread that the $500 in Funplay will be loaded on my Sail and Sign Card and I will play the slots as I usually do? Can I select amounts to play at one time, say $20, and I win more than the $20 what happens with that winning amount over the $20? Does the amount over the $20 played go into another account so that when I go through the $500 Funplay I can cash out those winnings? I'm sure I'm making this more difficult than it is, but I just don't get it.

Yes,  Funplay money is the same as if you put in $500 cash.  If you win and cash out, it differentiates  from the Funplay and you can actually completely cash out winnings.  You can play as much or as little as you wish, stay on the same machine or move around.

I booked an upcoming Getaway Cruise with 500 funplay offer...noticed the fine print states to bring the mail voucher for redemption but i have none, as i saw the offer on Carnival website and booked through there.  Does anyone have experience with receiving the cash or fun play without having the voucher?  Casino desk?  (Note that my booking is listed under the special casino rate code)

I haven't brought mine for several years and haven't had an issue.

I had Fun Play on a recent Holland America cruise and it worked out fine. I would play $10 per time and anything I won over the $10 went into my bank. When I finished playing the amount of Fun Play I had 75% of the original  Fun Play amount in my bank. I thought that was pretty good. Actually, I played using that amount I won for the rest of the week and never touched the cash I brought with me to play in the casino and brought it home - now I have a stake for our April cruise😃

I just got off Pride on Sunday and was very happy to get CA$H on the Premier sailing.  I was expecting Fun Play and was very surprised that we all got CA$H since most of the offers were $1000.00😎

I’m booked for a premier on the Magic in May. This will be my first one. Original offer on mailer in big bold print is for “casino cash” and more recent email from host says “fun play.” Fine print on the mailer said cash or fun play. I’m going to expect fun play and be pleasantly surprised if it is cash.
