Drinking Water?

Hi All.  We are going to be sailing on the Norwegian Bliss and wondering about the drinking water. Our travel agent said there are places all over the ship to fill water bottles. Any thoughts on the taste of the water? We really don't want to buy water bottles but will if necessary. Thanks!

The water on NCL ships is excellent. They use reverse osmosis to filter it, so it is very clean and pure. The water from the tap in your bathroom is the exact same water as from the dispensers in the buffet or at any of the bars. It's the same throughout the whole ship. I always bring a reusable water bottle and it works great!

As mentioned, the ships have all had excellent water.   However, if you fill a water bottle, don't do it direct unless just in your cabin.  Use a clean water glass to pour from.

Good point. There are signs up near the water stations in the buffet, but it is always a good idea to fill a clean glass then pour the water into your refillable container to prevent the transfer of germs from your bottle to the station and vice versa.

There are no dispensers on any NCL ship to fill up water bottles. As mentioned, you get water from a water from your stateroom sink, or glasses of water from a buffet dispenser (never putting your water bottle up to the dispenser). If you wait in line, bartenders may fill your bottle from a soda gun.

The water on a ship is probably cleaner that the tap water that ends up bottled water.

While ship's water may be better than lots of municipal water supplies, I doubt it is "cleaner" than bottled water, since the bottled water goes through an RO unit, just like some of the ship's water, and some of the ship's water is municipal water taken on in port.
