unrest in venezuela

i am wondering  whether the civil unrest will impact  cruises to the abc islands.i booked a march 28 th cruise  for those ports which is 17 miles from venezuela. in fact the floating market vendors are from  venezuela  .

I would say unlikely.  That is still quite a ways off and in the unlikely event that it would Royal will let you know.

You'll be fine.  Those poor people are fighting for their lives, but within their own country.

Should not be a problem.  The floating market actually closed a while back because they could no longer get produce over from Venezuela.  There were attempts to reopen it with locals but I am not sure where those have gone.

My answer to the OP is, "Why?"  Yes, the ABC Islands are relatively close to Venezuela.  But the reality is that they are in different worlds.  What happens in Venezuela has little impact in the ABC's...so  not to worry.

Can never rule out refugees fleeing by boat if the situation turns violent. It's happening all over the world.

thanks to everyone s thoughts i would hate to miss the abc  island. and yea it is sad i am worried about a cruise and people are fighting for their lives . makes me a little shallow i am afraid

Many wealthy Venezuleans have already opted to move to Panama, just as Cubans went to Miami decades ago.  The ABC islands are independent countries and hardly impacted by internal Venezulean grief and misery.

 

The OP will be able to enjoy his/her cruise, np.
