Babynan Posted February 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Hi. We are quite new to cruising. (Only been twice before) We are booked on a Back to Back cruise later this year on Carnival Conquest. As they are classed as two separate cruises, what is the policy of taking onboard 1 bottle of wine or champagne each? Do we take 4 bottles and 2 of them are taken by the crew until the next cruise, or do we just keep all 4 bottles? Thanks James

Thanks James Yes, you can take four bottles each by showing both boarding passes and no, they don't hold the bottles until the second cruise. Yes, you can go out between the two cruises and get another two bottles.
Babynan Posted February 3, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Hi Elaine. Thanks for your reply. Thats good to know. So does that mean that we take on 4 bottles on our first cruise, then we can leave the ship when we return and carry on another 2? Is that also the same for the soda and water quota? coevan Posted February 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2019 soda yes, water no
Babynan Posted February 3, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Thanks for that. I'm still a little confused. If me and my wife take on 2 bottles of wine each when we board our first cruise at Miami, and then when we return to Miami, I believe we are taken off to go through immigration and then go back on the ship for the second cruise. If I then left the ship to buy 2 more bottles of wine, would Carnival not know that we have already taken 2 bottles each onboard on the first cruise. (Sorry if this does'nt make a lot of sense. It seems okay in my head)😁 James
coevan Posted February 3, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2019 you can leave your bottles in your cabin for the second leg. You do not disembark with the other guests. The B2B passengers meet in a pre arranged place and are escorted through customs for a very cursory visit, took 5 minutes. After you board for the second cruise, you can get off the ship and buy 2 more bottles and no one will question you.

James Sorry, math challenged. I meant to say you can take two bottles each for a total of four at initial embark. Then at the beginning of second, get off and get two more. Yes, you can get more 12 more soda or water (in cartons or cans) each. Edited February 4, 2019 by Elaine5715

They don't track that you brought on four to start
Babynan Posted February 4, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted February 4, 2019 Thanks Coevan and Elaine for all your help. Thats cleared up quite a bit for us. Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted February 4, 2019 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2019 Just thinking out loud, if you buy alcohol from the Fun shop or while on port on the first cruise, will they still deliver it to you on the last night of the first cruise? That can go either way. Sometimes yes and sometimes your account is flagged and it gets held.

Its probably not worth getting a taxi just for a couple of bottles of wine and some more sodas.
coevan Posted February 5, 2019 #14 Share Posted February 5, 2019 depends what you are getting, Ubers can be $5. New Orleans has a few liquor stores in the terminal. 2 $10 bottles of wine on the ship are about $50, soda would also save significant $$.

I did'nt realise that Taxis were so cheap. Do you mean this is the price from Miami cruise port? and where would I ask the driver to take me? sra12574 Posted February 5, 2019 #20 Share Posted February 5, 2019 What would happen if you bought rum wine or beer on a back to back at a port or funshops . The last day of the cruise or the night you disembark you get that to take off the ship . Would you leave that in your room at the end of the first cruise and have that on the 2nd . That cerainly could be nice if they let you do that on a back to back .
