Rare patrickmoran Posted March 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2019 We will visit the islands on a cruise next year. Looking for places to enjoy the beaches and views.
Petoonya Posted March 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) The Intercontinental Tahiti in Papeete has day passes but it was very hard to nail down availability and amenities a few months ago. So gave up. Have stayed there in the past and it's very nice, beautiful views and lovely pool. Not much of a beach. reservation.tahitiregion@ihg.com The Hilton Moorea is $85pp and was it ever worth it! Spent a day there in December and it has everything going for it. Great snorkeling beach, beautiful pool, all watersports and a fabulous and huge lunch included. We'll be back there. rest.mgr@hilton-moorea.pf The Intercontinental Bora Bora is on one of the prettiest beaches in BB, Matira Beach. This too is a beautiful facility and they have day passes. intercontinental.borabora.lemoana@ihg.com Have to ask why you are going to spend your days at resorts when there is so much to see. BB is the most beautiful place I've ever been to and Moorea is a close second. So much to do on and in the water. And on land. Happy cruising. JJean Posted March 30, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2019 How do you get to the Hilton from the tender port. Is it easy? We are on a princess cruise.

We used Torea Nui Transport taxi service. https://toreanui.com/ They were waiting for us right at the pier. Told them when we'd be arriving and when we wanted to be picked up from the Hilton. We did 17 days in Tahiti on Wind Spirit In December. You'll get onboard your ship, look around and thank heaven you decided to visit Tahiti. Best wishes. We did this in Moore a in Oct and it was AWESOME.. The price was $213 for both of us on one jet ski. https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g309685-d11479873-Moorea_Solo_or_Twin_Jet_Ski_Tour-Moorea_Society_Islands.html

madera1 Posted August 10, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2019 We arrive in Papeete by plane after 7:00pm so booked a one night stay at a local B&B after reading reviews. We willthen be staying two nights in Morrea pre cruise in an overwater bungalow at the Manava resort. Would you recommend renting a car one day to go,around the island or just enjoy the resort? Also, either prior to taking the ferry to Moorea or upon our return to Papeete before boarding cruise ship, do you recommend a tour of the island or would we be too rushed? We will be in Bora Bora two days and booked a tour with Patrick's for the first day so looking for suggestions for day two.
Tahitianbigkahuna Posted August 10, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2019 Rent a car ..... the Manava doesn't have a great beach so you will need to get out and enjoy the island. The 'Aquarium' is good for snorkeling and you must drive to the Belvedere, enjoy Carmeline;s and maybe a lunch at Snack Mahana.
Petoonya Posted August 11, 2019 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2019 As far as things to do on Day 2 in Bora Bora....I'm an avid snorkeler and Bora Bora is a snorkeler's paradise. I'd choose a second day snorkeling, Tohora Bora Bora, https://www.tohoraborabora.com/ Lagoon Service http://lagoonservice.com/ or Pure Snorkeling. http://www.puresnorkeling.com/ Lagoon Service has their own private motu which is likely the most beautiful place I've been. Tohora BB is my favorite just because it is the most challenging and also does whale watching in season. There are island day tours which take advantage of the views of the lagoon, but to me BB is all about being in the water. TBK might be able to advise on BB land tours. I think you might feel rushed doing a tour of Tahiti before the ferry to Moorea- takes 3-4 hours to circle. Get over to Moorea and enjoy that! But if you do it on your return before boarding the ship, Yota Tahiti does island tours at a fair price. https://www.yotatahiti.com/index.php/en/

annbern1 Posted February 17, 2020 #12 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Thank you for your informative posts. Wondering if you are aware of a Polynesian dinner show on either Bora Bora or Tahiti for which we could purchase tickets while cruise ship is in port overnight. Gracelyn Posted February 19, 2020 #18 Share Posted February 19, 2020 Do you know if there is entertainment somewhere on a Wednesday or Thursday?
Tahitianbigkahuna Posted February 19, 2020 #19 Share Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) I'm sure there is but you might need to contact individual resorts to find out which night and if outsiders can come for dinner/show. The Sofitel on Moorea would be good starting point 😉 H0566@SOFITEL.COM Edited February 19, 2020 by Tahitianbigkahuna
