Alcoholic Drink Package more than one at a time?

Recommended Posts

I am going to purchase the alcoholic drink package for our next sailing.  I was curious... if I am say finishing up at the pool and want to take a couple drinks back to the cabin while I shower, get dressed and sit on balcony before dinner - am I restricted to ordering one at a time?

What if I am back in cabin dressing and hubby is still at pool - can he bring back one for each of us?

In answer to the OP's question....the only way you could do this is take BOTH cards to the bar, order 1 drink on each card, take hubby's card back to him before taking both drinks back to your cabin (or he could knock when he gets there). You can NOT order 2 drinks on one card (exception is 1 drink + 1 water). Hope that makes sense.

The way we handled this was to switch sea pass cards. I had my wow band and my husband’s sea pass card, he had his wow band and my sea pass card.  That way we could bring a drink for our spouse.  I was out and about earlier and more often than DH and would bring back drinks for us to share on the balcony. It was also helpful at the pool deck when we would take turns getting drinks.

And before the drink police get on my case this was not so we could get 2 drinks at a time for ourselves.  The time limit still applies so if he got a drink with my card then I couldn’t use my wow band until the time limit has passed.

There is no time limit.

Some of the bartenders told us there was.  This came up when several of us were getting drinks at the same time. They would say you can’t get another drink on this card because it was just swiped and we would explain it was to go on a different card.  I do not know the “official “ time between drinks.  Another in our group thought it was 15 minutes. It also came up again when a friend ordered a drink and took one sip and hated it.  She was going to wait the time limit to order another one, but I assured her if she explained she wasn’t going to drink that one, they would make her another.  And they did.

I could have have sworn I’ve read on other threads that with the deluxe beverage package they put the time factor in to prevent you from buying consecutive drinks and giving them to friends. The old sharing one package topic.

Also ran into the time limit on Anthem last year at select bars. I know there is no official time limit, but some bartenders/bars are more strict than others. We went to the pub a lot, so that wasn't an issue (even ordered car bombs). But it definitely was by the pool and in the casino. Actually, our first drink order upon embarkation was at the indoor pool (it was raining) and the bartender even joked with us about getting a shot and a drink. We all proceeded to order drinks and then were like, you know what, let's do a shot and then he said oh, no, sorry, you just ordered a drink. Confused, we walked away and never went back to that bar...but why would we...that pool is always filled with kids anyway.
