Riocca Posted March 30, 2019 Author #27 Share Posted March 30, 2019 Over the years we’ve been on a few first cruises after a refit and know they can be challenging, one was on Journey’s refit in 2016 that definitely didn’t go to plan. When we booked that particular cruise there was no hint of a major refit in fact the preceding cruise was cancelled to fit it in. Although we are in the U.K. when Azamara realised there could be possible problems and our chosen cabin would not be available we were given options including cancellation. We chose to continue and there were some challenges but in adversity we had a great cruise and Azamara were generous in compensating passengers. Yes there were a minority of passengers who complained about everything but most made the most of what was a vacation after all. It’s a shame that there are problems but I’m sure they will be resolved and no doubt other areas were prioritised over the shops.
SiamCruisers Posted April 30, 2019 #28 Share Posted April 30, 2019 Hi ~ In regards to the dry dock work.... Anyone know what changes were done if any to the standard cabins? I had heard from crew members on our prior cruise that ended in Singapore before dry dock that the TV system & Internet would be improved. Was wondering if they would redid the materials used in the showers at all? Any photos out there? TNX John

Only thing upgraded was shower walls and new shower curtain. That’s all for the cabins.

jkadventures Posted May 22, 2019 #31 Share Posted May 22, 2019 Hi we are recently off the Pursuit and absolutely loved The Den! Our next trip is on the Quest and look forward to spending time in The Den. Is there any update to the dry dock for the Journey? Are they still planning on removing the casino? Thanks

All my info, that of course may change, is that JR will be done third quarter of 2020. I'm thinking August/September. Fitting into dry dock schedule is an exacting science so as not to disrupt things too much. I visited Journey from Pursuit a few days ago and it reminded me. They need to create The Den there ASAP! The electronic gaming tables are horrid. Phil and Edited May 24, 2019 by excitedofharpenden
berkshireboy Posted May 25, 2019 #33 Share Posted May 25, 2019 (edited) There is a gap in Journey's schedule of one week after the nine night Amalfi to Dalmatia cruise departing on the 20 August 2020 and the next scheduled cruise, Adriatic Sea and Greece, departing 5 September 2020. I suspect that this is when the dry dock will be undertaken. My worry is that we are booked on that Adriatic Sea and Greece cruise and hope that should the dry dock indeed be scheduled for then that the work on Journey be completed on time.
