Age Restrictions

Hello,

I have questions, we will be sailing on the Freedom of the Seas next July sailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  I have been looking at the new areas coming to the ship.  The question is with Playmakers, the other new areas and new bars, on the RCL web site  "Restrictions 21+ on sailings from North America, 18+ on sailings from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand." I know 21 to consume, I have a 19YO daughter at the time of sailing, Is she allowed in the area with her parents?  If not what is a 19YO to do?  To old for the Teen clubs and to young to be with her parents. Does RCL have a 18-20 get together or area?  DCL and NCL at 18 are allowed in the "Adult Only" areas of the ship.  Did we make a mistake in booking a RCL with a 19YO?

On the Independence (sailing from Southampton), under 18's were allowed without adults in Playmakers up until 5pm, but many were there later with parents/accompanying adults. There were certainly many evening activities for different aged teenagers (i.e .12-14, 15-18 , etc) and lots of 18+ things going on.I realise that the 18+/21+  drinking rule is different depending on where you sail from but I'm sure that there will be plenty for her to do with you, and on her own with others of her age

We were on Navigator in April and there were tons of kids at playmakers at night playing with the fuzz ball tables and pool tables.  It was 100% family oriented with games and tons of sports on the TV..I wouldn't worry about it!

Yes, anyone can go to bars, just not consume under 21.

Your daughter can be anywhere on the ship you are. She just cannot consume alcohol.

She IS permitted to gamble in the casino.  Just a heads-up.  😉
