Glory 9-1-19 observations

Just back from the Glory.  Loved the ship and the crew was the best--lots of smiles!

We had balcony cabin 1061.  We generally try to stay near the elevators.  This is the first cruise where we could actually hear the dings when elevator stopped on our floor.  Also, we were directly across from the crew work room, and that generated some early morning and late evening noise.  Otherwise, the cabin was fine with a great location.

Food was great--both MDR and buffet.  Plenty of choices.  DD loved the new Cuban sandwich from the Deli (new to us anyhow--we hadn't sailed Carnival for about 2 1/2 years).

Entertainment is where Carnival really seems to be dropping the ball these days.  It's the major reason we decided to try other lines, and will be the major reason we will only choose Carnival for a great price or a great itinerary.  All things being equal, we would choose RCCL first.  Epic Rock is one of our favorite shows, and the singers this time were not up to par with our other experiences.  A lot of Carnival entertainment is passenger based (karaoke, lip sync, game shows, etc).

Our cabin steward offered morning or afternoon service, but did mention that if we required it, we could have both.  We chose morning--we are low maintenance and could honestly get by most of the week with just clean towels.  We got towel animal every day, and our steward recognized and greeted us one afternoon when he was out and about on the ship.  We've never had that happen before,  and it made a nice impression.

All in all, another awesome cruise 🙂

I appreciate the post.  Sailing on her in Oct 2020.  We normally sail on RCI but liked the change to Carnival.  Appealing on Carnival is food and more food venues.  After awhile food over and over on same cruise line tends to get old.  Retired ow, so itinerary and price are driving factors.
