Nassau Atlantis options through ship or on your own

Yes, divide $528.93 by 4, that is your price pp), full access, but if you don’t cancel, yes, you are still charged, just like any other reservation. Even if the water park is closed, you will still be charged for your hotel reservation, because it’s not a reservation for aqua adventure, but for a room at CS.

We may just do the Beach and tour at Atlantis as that cost is really up there and I do not like the risks (weather/closure/etc.)

 

Also, contacted 'Resort for a Day' about day-passes and they 'claim' that no prices are available yet for 2020?  They said they do not come out until late October?

 

That seemed a bit strange as they list 'Atlantis Aquaventure' passes at three prices (with dates) as Value/Low/or High Season
prices.  Only problem is that they list only some dates (as Jan 2 and 3rd were not listed) and they couldn't determine what category that falls in.... and the price per person ranges from 135 - 166 pp?  

 

Seemed a bit strange?

The beach pass also includes breakfast aquarium, but you won’t be able to tour anywhere except the beach, aquarium, casino and shops at marina village. I’m guessing your dates are going to be in high season.

What sites are you checking on? I am seeing Atlantis Day pas as $168 or beach pass as $65 but don't see breakfast.  We are going in July

Drat! My first thought was "Breakfast! How did I miss seeing that?" I was just about to get on the Carnival website and look at that excursion again. 

 

According to the Atlantis website there is a day pass called Atlantis Beach Day Pass, whose description is almost verbatim to the Carnival excursion Atlantis Beach Day and Discover Atlantis.....but $24 cheaper. If I book the Carnival excursion and show them the website with the Atlantis day pass, will they really refund the difference, or is there a catch?

Why would they offer a refund? Booking through the cruise line is almost always the most expensive way, they get their cut.

Carnival has a price match. I did it with Lamanai and got like $35 OBC. There is a catch though. If there’s a slight difference in the tours they can reject your price match. So I wouldn’t count on it unless you know others on here have successfully matched that tour. 
 

In general I haven’t found huge price differences though. For the water park through Atlantis it’s $135 for my day. Through Carnival it’s $169. If I use a carnival gift card or my carnival master card I save 10% so knock carnival down to $152 and it includes transportation to and from the park and the guarantee the ship won’t leave without me. I bet transportation to and from costs more than $12.

Since carnival includes transportation, I’m guessing they won’t price match. A cab is $4 pp each way.

The catch will likely be transportation. If you can find a tour that provides transportation and is cheaper, you have a chance.

I’ve never had a $4 cab anywhere. You specify pp. How many p’s do you need in the cab? I’m a solo traveler and have never paid less than $10 for any cab on a cruise. Freeport nobody wanted to take me anywhere without others in the cab which resulted in a long wait. I’m figuring a $20 minimum on transportation.

 

But even if it is $4 each way...plus tip. That $12 I saved booking through Atlantis instead of carnival is gone.

There will be tons of van drivers waiting to get their vans filled (small). I’m guessing it will take a minute to fill up. We once took the ships excursion on NCL ($99 pp for some reason). The downside was having to wait for everyone to gather and get wristbands. For the trip back to the ship, they wait to fill up the van. We are a family of 7, so not an issue for us.

Oh yeah there were tons in Freeport. All with vans. And none of them wanted just one person in their Van. And I was going to the brewery. Nobody else was. 
 

I can see it being different with 7 people. In my example you would probably save $50 that way. Then you’d have to weigh and decide if the $50 is worth the ship’s guarantee or not.

There were lines of people heading to paradise island, atlantis, RIU, public beach, vans were filling quickly.

Thanks folks. When it gets closer to cruise time I'll probably buy the Atlantis excursion through Carnival and then tell them about the hotel day pass and see what happens. Worst they can do is tell me no. I'll let you know what happens.

Book it yourself online. and take a taxi there.  It's a 10 minute cab ride. Super easy there a ton of taxis  going  back and forth. And a lot cheaper. You'll get there an hour earlier , and you won't be fighting for a chair. On the way back goto the main entrance of Atlantis. There will be cabs waiting to drive you wherever you want to go.

How do you get the wristbands?  Did you take a taxi to the hotel then Atlantis?  I am just worried we are only in Nassau from 8am-5pm, what time did you leave to get back?  I am not even sure what time Atlantis waterpark opens.

You check in at CS (can check out then too) walk over to Atlantis to get wristbands. Pools open at 9, slides 10. 15 minute taxi ride.

You will get a paper from the comfort suites at check in.  You then walk across the street, LITERALLY, into the Atlantis.  Show the paper to the desk in the Atlantis hotel and they hand you the bands.  Lines can be long to do this....so go as early as possible if you don’t like to wait!   Just take a taxi from the ship to the hotel, lots of taxis are waiting for you, super easy to do.  Hours at Atlantis vary according to the time of year, so check the Atlantis website.  I will tell you they close early year round, like 6pm, so getting there early is best, lucky you!  You will get more done the first hour that they are open than the rest of the day.  (I stayed there for a week, so I can answer any specific questions!  ).
