Next, we were all led through the dining room on the way to the inner sanctum of the Horizon galley... On the way there, we went right past my table in the MDR...

When we got back to the kitchen, the first thing they had us do was to wash our hands in the sink...

Afterwards, we moved on to a large stainless steel bar for some small appetizers... Sorry, I don't remember what some of these were...

The first thing was a strange shaped sphere thing that you were supposed to suspend via magnetic powers above a small wooden plank...

I was trying to hold my phone with one hand and place this sphere with the other, and it just wasn't working... Finally, one of the assistants came over and got it to work...

After the doohickey was balanced above the magnet, they carefully placed a small plate with about 1/10th of a bite of food on top of it... A bit pretentious if you ask me, but I guess it was a bit of showmanship involved...

Next was a small coffee cup of mushroom tea... There was a little dropper thing that you were supposed to drip into the cup for additional enhancement...

After that, another very small thing that was made of beets I believe...

After that, it was time to move on into the real Chef's Table area... When we first walked in, they were guiding people as to where to sit. The only thing was, that after everyone but me was seated, they had about half the people get up and move around again... Finally, after a few minutes of confusion, I had a seat...

The first course was some kind of deconstructed multi level box type thing...

Forgive me, but I don't remember what all these different things were. I wish the WiFi would have worked better down there so I could do this in real time...

I do remember that this piece of bread was one of the best things I've ever eaten, ever...

And, close-ups of the other two items...

How's the company, Sid?  Hope they're not all on their phones and there's some good conversation at the table.

There were a couple of characters in there... Two sets of couples who broke the news to their partners that they had booked a cruise to Australia... The one guy was not excited about that at all...

The galley tour followed, and after that we returned to the dining room for the next course...

Olive oil poached sea bass, with almond parmesan cream, slivers of almonds and edamame, and burnt champagne vinegar butter... This was fantastic, but the piece of fish was so small that it also left a lot to be desired...IMG_20190924_200945.thumb.jpg.b0d03ef3a3c6d6898235144323906c94.jpg

The lamb dish was next, and turned out to be pretty nice... Smoked lamb, provolone and pickled radish roll, lamb pastrami, and lamb neck croquette... The lamb pastrami was a bit tough. I chewed on it for awhile then spit it out into my napkin hoping no one would notice...

Lol.  They must have served it individually.  It wasn't in the first pic.  I was gonna comment, "Tiny food.  Big plates" 😁

Next was dessert number one... Raspberry yogurt sponge, cognac cream, lemon and olive cremeux, raspberry ganache, reconstructed pastry croustillant, dark chocolate, Mardi gras feuillantine flakes... (I'm just copying these descriptions right off the menu. I have no idea what some of these things even are...)

And, we've now reached the very end of the Chef's Table experience... There was one more dish... They call it Mignardises... Like I said, a bit pretentious... Burnt custard tart, almond chocolate, caramel raspberry licorice, and elderflower caviar...

Beautiful!  Hope it tasted good.  It looks like something I saw on Master Chef a few weeks back!

So, this is what it's come to... I went to the steakhouse to see if they had any decent red wine by the glass... I ended up drinking one, but it was just some of the crap they serve all over the ship...

I just don't want to start gulping down tequila after all that wine earlier...
