Not paying that much for a shoe that I can't 1)wear to work, 2)wear with jeans or leggings and a Tshirt, 3) put in an orthotic so I have arch support, 4) have enough room for my left big toe (that is in a permanent "sleep" feeling state due to nerve damage) to not be constant pain... I had those Hush Puppies a few years ago for work - lasted 6 months. I'm picky - the only footwear that isn't multipurpose are my hiking/trail running footwear and my winter boots. But, thanks for the pointers - others may be able to use them.

As they say, it's not the years, it's the mileage. (Or maybe it's both....) Absolute flats are a no-no for me according to my orthopedist. I've had repeated episodes of plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, and now am getting injections for knee OA as well. So most of the shoes in that round-up just wouldn't work. I actually have the Ugg flats in silver metallic, but they are not as comfortable on me as the reviews of others would suggest. I would only wear them for a dressy event where I am mostly sitting.... Some Cole Haan flats are okay, but the ones with a bit of heel lift (like the ones I linked upthread) are better. The Tali flats ironically are not as comfortable as the Zero Grand ones. Loafers are my mainstay at work; I like the wedge soles for an updated look as long as they are not super exaggerated. These Munro Travelers have been my go-to for years for business travel: https://www.zappos.com/p/munro-traveler/product/7851969 . Pricey, but they are the only nice-looking shoes I've found that I can walk in (relatively) comfortably all day.

Bizmark'sMom Posted October 2, 2019 Author #30 Share Posted October 2, 2019 These are the 2 pairs of shoes I brought; https://www.zappos.com/p/dansko-paisley-chocolate-milled-nubuck-waterproof/product/8722031/color/806296 https://www.zappos.com/p/naot-kirei-black-leather-combo/product/7563148/color/99276 Both are keeping my narrow, long, flat, plantar fasciitis, broken toe feet as happy as can be expected while I tromp through moors and old battle fields and along city streets. And, both get a lot of wear in everyday life. I've had the Kireis for years.

I have plantar fasciitis and fallen arches so above all, my feet must be happy when I travel and I choose my shoes accordingly.
