What restaurants are open for lunch on embarkation day?

Main Dining Room, Lido, Dive In, NY Pizza Deli, Dutch Cafe

 

Our choice is always the MDR if we arrive during their lunch opening time.  A calm and sane way to begin the cruise.

 

Have fun, the K dam is awesome.

Coming in late to this thread, but does anyone know what the hours of the MDR lunch are on embarkation day?

Usually 12 noon until 1:30 pm.

I say usually as I have also seen it close at 1 pm occasionally.

Koningsdam 12th January in Port Everglades MDR was open 12 noon to 1.30 pm

For some strange reason, embarkation lunch in the MDR is a big secret.  Don't ask anyone (on the pier or on the ship) about this because they'll all tell you to go to the Lido for lunch. Just head for the MDR, usually the lower level, and see for yourself if it's open.

Thanks - that is what we usually do, but couldn't remember the times.

Ive also heard grand dutch cafe is usually pretty slow on embarkation day.  We may do that when we cruise on the k in June

Since the Dutch Cafe is a big unknown for new cruisers, it is a great Embarkation Day choice for lunch with no waiting.  Here is the menu for the Grand Dutch Cafe (love the pea soup and sandwiches. Grab a giant chocolate chip cookie, too)
