lgates63 Posted January 20, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2020 I know that Norwegian banned door decorations last summer due to potential fire issues. Can anyone tell me if this is still being enforced? We are cruising on the Escape in a few months and thought I'd ask those of you who may know what the current situation is. I usually create a magnetic door sign using my home printer. It is 8.5x11 and the entire page is one big magnet. I do not put any balloons or other decorations on the cabin door - just this sign. Thanks! Lori
KarlChilders Posted January 20, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2020 We saw decorations on doors on the Getaway in December.

Rare mking8288 Posted January 20, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2020 (edited) Last month on the Gem, week before X'Mas, neighbor 2 doors away all decked up for 8 nights ... not the only ones. It's in a high foot traffic area location with crew walking by ... all the time. Suffice to say, not a "problem" that escaped notice. don't-use-real-name Posted January 20, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2020 I don't think that NCL presses the Bah Hum Bug citation on door decorations as long as the passageway is not blocked or flammable materials used in construction -AND- removing same does not cause clean-up or damage issues. Of course there maybe a Scrooge crew member citing some user unfriendly circumstances for removal - Tip this guy with a lump of coal !
cadmille Posted January 20, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2020 This is what we did on the Joy at Christmas time, it was a big hit with the fellow guests and the crew, it was all held on my magnets, what candy we had left (we took lots ) we left with our room Stewart to share with the rest of the crew.
