Flew in from Charlotte on the 7:30 a.m. flight.  Luggage showed up and we were immediately taken to the shuttle bus.  Hardly a line at embarkation.  They're back to having you fill out a health form with 3 questions.  Have you been to China in the last 14 days, have you been around anyone that's been to China in the last 14 days and are you feeling sick.  🙄

Had to scan the medallion 3 times before walking thru the aquarium.  They were boarding so we walked right on and of course scanned the Medallion again.  We were told rooms would be ready by 1:00 and it was only 11:00 but we went anyway and our steward had just finished up so we parked everything and went to the buffet.  It was not crowded at all.  The seafood was good... butterflied shrimp and salmon, and I was so happy to have so many salad options.  That is the biggest thing I miss with this New Worldfresh Marketplace.

Called to change out our mini-bar.  There is no scotch/whiskey as usual and instead we got 4 vodkas.  Room service said they are out of the scotch.  I just reordered the whole selection to what we wanted.

There's bar soap in the bathroom.

We bought the Medallion net package, so let me know if anyone has anything they want me to look into.

Hi Diann, I am so happy to see you are doing this - did you already tell me and I forgot?

I watched sailaway but the PTV cameras were having issues and I didn't get to see anyone zoomed in.  Was a tad disappointed.  Enjoy yourself and have a great cruise.  We'll be following along and checking in regularly. Yoyo says hi.

Assume from your post that liquid soap is provided for the washroom sink then.  We actually prefer it.

I think you all misread my post.  I actually said there IS bar soap in the bathroom.  😁

The public restrooms have automatic built in ones, however many of them were empty.

We watched sailaway from The Retreat.  Outrigger about blew us off the ship with the wind and there's a chill in the air.

We have one of the obstructed deluxe balconies that's on Deck 8 on the side.  The balcony is huge, but has a metal front instead of glass. Not a problem for me as there's actually a little cut out on part of the bottom and I can see the sea go by. The decks above us jut out a little so we are partially covered but we're fully visible from above after that.  If I look straight up we are directly underneath the bridge.

This morning we can't get our door open so I guess they have the ability to lock it.  Not happy about that.  I knew that was happening on the front of the ship and it's why I moved to a cabin around the side.

Otherwise it's very quiet here.  We are past the theater and there's a big empty space showing below us and I was a little concerned about noise, but there is none.

We're approaching Princess Cay.  High of 76.  Chance of rain and water looks choppy, so we'll see if we make it or not.

Medallions are working, servers are carrying their devices and scanning.  No paper pads or signing going on as reported last cruise.

The DH went down to the IC for coffees this morning and came back with this.  Somebody has a sense of humor this morning.  He reports that there is no wait staff, you must get in line but it worked like a well oiled machine even though there were 20 people in front of him.  One person is at the register and dedicated staff are preparing.  The only coffee menus were on the tables directly in front of the IC, the menus everywhere else in the Piazza were cocktail menus.  He ordered 2 caramel lattes, which is not on the menu, with no problem.  They are all being served in the large to go cups.

That's the first I've heard about them locking the doors on the side balconies.

Are you sure it wasn't done by mistake?

They're locking the forward facing balconies now? Does this include the mini suites on Lido and Marina decks?(L107, L108, M107 and M108)? I may just have to cancel my Med cruises and TA on the Enchanted Princess this fall.

Did you go to Princess Cays today?

I can't open it this morning either so I'm going down to the front desk and ask what's up.

To sum up yesterday, we were able to stop at PC.  We were a little late arriving due to strong head winds.  It was pretty windy but the ferries over weren't rocky rolly.  Almost a cloudless sky.  My friend pronounced the water frigid, and it was cold to begin with but I soon warmed up and rented an aqua chair and floated for a couple of hours quite comfortably.  Overall a pleasant day.

We went to Sabatinis for dinner at 7:30 and that was a 2 hour event.  We haven't been for ages and decided to give it a try with the new menu.  We were... underwhelmed.  I got the cheese fondue and didn't realize it was going to be a watery soup... and I got the veal scallopini and it was OK, smothered in a brown sauce.  Ugh.  The DH got the pork tenderloin and said it was overcooked and dry.  We got the trio of deserts which were presented beautifully but mostly tasteless.  DH got the tiramisu and we've never seen anything like it.  It came out in a roll and was mostly a creamy cheese in the middle and didn't taste a thing like tiramisu.P1020341.thumb.JPG.c4343c94e2c7d614d41610f6927adb1d.JPG

I had ordered a boutineer for the DH and a wristlet for me.  Both have big pins.  I'll be going downstairs and asking how I'm supposed to stick it in my wrist.  🙄

The guys went to the Comedy Magic Greg Moreland show and really enjoyed it.  Apparently a lot of slap stick and audience involvement.  Us girls retired to our cabins.

Today is vow renewal day.  I'm attaching all the info we've received.

Also on another note I have a picture of the card that is now in the slot where you used to have to put your room key to turn the lights on.  I guess they found a solution because people kept sticking whatever in there.

OK gotta go... I'm running the Slot Pull for our CC group at 10:00.

I hope enough people avoid Sabatini's in the future until they bring back the old menu from last year. At a repeaters party not that many people indicated that they liked the new menu so there might be hope after all.

Mid-day update.

We used a machine and did the $5 pull.  Each put in $15.  We got back $14/ea.   2 people hit the Wheel and got us $75 and $100 respectively.  The casino gave us 2 prizes, one was a nice polo shirt I think and forgot the other prize and we gave them to our two big winners.  I was cashing us out so I didn't actually see the prizes.  Then about 13 of us put $5/ea. in and did one pull and we ended up with $11, so overall we got our money back plus a little.

I stopped at guest services about the cabin door.  He said it's not locked and they're sending someone up.  My DH used brute force and got it open, closed it and can't open it again.

Liz I'll ask if they're locking the front cabin balcony doors while the ship is in motion.  I had heard they were but I'll verify it.

It sounds like it's just jammed by the wind force.

I dunno.  It opens quite easily now... BUT we are going slower.  The balcony is pretty deep.  I'd say at least 10 feet with a solid metal wall on each side.

OMG!!!!    L*O*V*E   THE PHOTOS!!!!! :classic_love:

You must have been in an awesome location to grab those pix! (Or were they taken from the MUTS screen, perhaps?)  Golly, Di, what a blast this must have been!!!. Thinking about you guys all day today, so am thrilled to see your awesome pix of "Capt Steubing & Vickie".

And was that certificate something ship will display, or was it perhaps something every couple receives?

Also, thanx for the emailed great shot of you & G all dressed up for the event -- terrific dress, girl! :classic_biggrin:

(And hi to Liz!!! "You'll have mail" -- but a little later this evening!)

I see the photos of Captain Stubbing and Vickie - looks like fun - but not any of you?  Did you post them elsewhere?  I'll go check Facebook.  I have tried to stay off of Facebook because I have become obsessed with what is happening to Diamond Princess and the coronna virus in general.

Congrats on making the world's record.

And your day at PC sounds nearly perfect.

I figured there was something wrong with your door. I'm glad you got it fixed.  It will make a difference.  One of these days I want to try one of the cabins like you have now.  I think I  might enjoy them.  If you haven't already asked, don't worry about it.  I won't really cancel my cruise over it.  I got a nice email from Doug today, he had done some research regarding the doors for me.

Sorry about the Sabatini's disappointment.  I've never been a huge fan of it, but we did a special dinner a few years ago and it was superb.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.  I forgot what they called it.

Adele, nice to hear from you.  Can't wait to get the email.  I have a new email address, when I read the one you are sending I will tell you what the new one is.  I guess I should update my signature.

Diann, enjoy the rest of your cruise.  I'm still following.

Oh, I see my signature is already updated.
