We are doing small plane flightseeing in Kauai so we can see the beauty of the waterfalls, Waimea Canyon, etc. From what I understand of the island, you can't drive to see all those things, so seeing them from the air is the only way to do it. Plus you cover more ground by air than you could in a car. We sail in May this year, so I can't give you an honest review yet, but we are very excited for this excursion.

I would agree that, in general, Kauai would be the best. But Kauai is also the island where Mother Nature might interfere the most, being one of the wettest places on Earth. The cloud cover over the peaks is almost non-stop.

In October of 2019 my boyfriend and I took a Paradise Helicopters tour of the far northern part of Hawaiʻi Island (the Big Island). It leaves from north of Kona, and we flew up into deep valleys with waterfalls that were hundreds of feet high. It was so beautiful I started to cry.

I've also done a helicopter tour of central Maui, and it was lovely too, but something about those deep, mostly uninhabited, beautiful valleys in the northeast corner of the Big Island really grabbed me.

Arrgh! I got the name of the helicopter company wrong and I apologize. It's Blue Hawaiian that leaves out of Waikoloa, a short drive north of Kona. Sorry!
