JasperCruiser Posted February 22, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2020 Does anyone have experience using Uber/Lyft going from Port Canaveral to MCO after a cruise with a small child? I’ve never used a ride service but it’s sounds like an attractive alternative to the shuttle option in that I can leave when I want to and not have to follow their schedule. My child is five and I wonder if ride services offer boosters. We really won’t be in a hurry to get to the airport because our flight is much later that afternoon. capriccio Posted February 22, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2020 I researched Uber in Fort Lauderdale last month and Seattle in the summer of 2018 and in neither place did they offer car seats. From on-line information it looks like Uber may offer them in NYC but no where else. Our 5 year old granddaughter just visited us and used this remarkable inflatable booster. It takes up lots less space than a car seat or even a regular booster but is comfortable and folds up into a small package. https://www.amazon.com/UberBoost-Inflatable-Backless-Portable-Toddlers/dp/B07RR7ZYGY/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=inflatable+booster+car+seat&qid=1582346737&sr=8-
Rare TV Dad Posted February 22, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2020 Your problem will be car seats, unless you arrange it ahead of time. You might try researching car services. There are plenty in Florida. They all have booster seats available. Here are a couple. https://www.orlandoluxurytransportation.us/corporate/?msclkid=181ce5c973181bab87a2bb987ca0359f https://ultimatetowncar.com/port-canaveral-orlando-transportation.php https://www.port-canaveral-transportation.net/
JohninDC Posted February 22, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2020 Your other option is a one way car rental. The car rental agencies can provide you with a car seat, for a fee, and they all offer shuttles from the port. Bring a few dollars in quarters for the tolls. A travel booster seat, as suggested above, would open up lots of transportation options. Bringing your own seat is the only way to guarantee that it is correctly sized and has been maintained. Rare irun5k Posted February 22, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2020 I also recommend considering a travel booster. We used an inflatable booster for a couple of uber rides in NYC over the summer with our 5 yr old. I'm sure they are not as good as a normal, personally owned booster like you have in your car at home, but they are likely a safer bet over a random booster that may show up (or not show up) in an uber.
