Thinking of booking Enchantment, but prefer Liberty

I've been doing mock bookings, and these 2 ships do 7 days out of Galveston.

I can do a solo booking for 200% on Enchantment, but on Liberty seems like they quadruple the rate then give me $50 off. About $800 more than it says pp starting.

I wanted Liberty but can get half the price on Enchantment.. not sure I've ever done that ship but think perhaps sister ships. It doesnt have a promenade right?

Someone must have cancelled 2 adjoining rooms on Enchantment.. good price right now for march 30th. Should I or hold out for Liberty?

Liberty is 10 years younger. It has a passenger capacity more than double that of the Enchantment.

Enchantment has one specialty restaurant. (Chops)

Liberty has 3.

Liberty has slides. Enchantment has bungee trampolines.

Liberty has splash area for babies/toddlers in swim diapers. Enchantment does not.

Liberty has a skating rink.   Enchantment does not.

There’s more, but I’m tired 😄

That's what I thought. I really want rcl this time and couldnt book for the next couple of weeks. Doctor and teeth cleaning.

A senior rate on Enchantment just popped up and 2 adjoining rooms available only for march 30th sailing ... when I can go.

I dont understand why liberty OTS quadrupled the rate when I click thru to book solo. I talked to a booking agent and was told it was because of the 2nd person sale and free kids, solo pricing quadrupled on liberty. .. I'm not willing to pay quadruple, that's crazy.

But not that keen on Enchantment... or not book.

It's been a while, can I still get $100 onboard credit for rcl stock?

Which itinerary do you prefer?

I dont care. My parents prefer key west, Bahamas, ... Enchantment

I mostly like the promenade area to hang out in. Solo cruise and I'm not supposed to overdo the sun lol, I know, I still cruise. So I dont care too much where it goes. I just will walk and shop.

I like the adult serenity area on the newer ships, dont remember ships like Enchantment having it. Its shaded and I can read a book. The rate is a senior rate and probably wouldnt last the night. I still think someone cancelled last minute.

Yes.

Quadruple the price is nonsense, if you are looking at the exact same category.

Try booking with a cabinmate. If you like the price, just have this person be a “no show” at the pier. Taxes and port fees will be refunded. This way you are paying the double fare that you expected in the first place.

Enchantment has a Solarium, which is quasi-adults only - 16+ allowed.

That's not bad. I'm fair skinned and have had 4 skin cancers removed, not just being a wimp, that's why I like the shaded solarium to sit and read a book.

Silly I lived in Boca Raton and drove to key west more than once, but my parents needed me here, so I quit my job and live in Texas. Kinda silly to cruise to Key West lol, but really I dont care.

Hmmm. My mom of course is saying a cruise where there are lots of people is the last thing she would do, but I'm thinking key west, coco and bahamas pretty safe ports still.

Sure enough I tied up the cabin I wanted. It just kept spinning, wouldnt load the last page to book.

Anyone know how long before the cabin I was trying to book is released? A hour?

Not my fault, I waited and waited for the page to load. Just kept spinning. I'll try again later. Grrrrr

Liberty, quite frankly Is well worth the extra cost.   much more to do and  she's not as old as EN.   we have sailed both and vastly prefer LIB.

Yea I feel the same, but cant get liberty for 200% solo supplement. I think someone got the cabin on Enchantment and i waited a hour, and went to bed.

Maybe I'll keep pricing liberty. I know i prefer that ship. You are right, its frustrating when i cant get it for even 200% solo supplement.

We recently sailed on both ships and do prefer the Liberty, its bigger, more dining options, food was better but the solarium area on the Enchantment was larger so thats a plus and had the park cafe right there for food.  We are booked for a 7nt on the Enchantment in April that goes to Nassau, Key West and Coco Cay.

I copied and pasted some thoughts I posted on another thread about Liberty vs Enchantment:

We were on the Feb 7th sailing on the Enchantment for the first time and had a great time.  Some thoughts on the above post:

-Solarium was great the first sea day as it was too cool and windy for us but the last sea day was surprisingly fantastic on the regular pool deck.

-Enjoyed the Diamond Club which is right above the Viking Crown Lounge, also bigger than the one on the Liberty.

-It was a different ship layout that took some getting used to and finding new things throughout our sailing.

-Park Cafe was good and convenient.

-We also thought the MDR on any other ship we have been on had much better food.  It's the same menu but some of our favorite things just weren't that good.  Staff however was fantastic!

-Tried the Windjammer for one breakfast and one lunch and looked at dinner options several nights.  We were not impressed at all it wasn't as good and had less options than the Liberty.

-Yes a more relaxed vibe which we enjoyed.

-Enjoyed the look of the Centrum and reminded us of Carnival ships.

-Went to most if not all shows and comedy shows and while we enjoyed them just not as good as the ones on the Liberty.

-Spent our fair share of time in the Casino, machines were pretty good to us, bar service was great and it was convenient to the Theater for the shows and MDR for dinner.

-We normally book a balcony cabin but had an OV this time and enjoyed it, size wasn't much different but would have been nice to have that balcony.

-Fog delayed us getting back to port then they said the weather the last 48hrs affected the gangway so we ended us getting off on deck 1 like when your in port but it seemed to work quickly and smoothly once they started the process.

-We are booked for a week on the Enchantment in April and looking forward to it but in the future would pick the Liberty over the Enchantment.

Hmmm.  I've been back and forth and forth and back.

I DO like the park cafe for lunch a lot.

I am diamond it seems. Oasis had a diamond coffee bar but neither have it but I dont want to fly to florida.

I just checked liberty April 12 to see if it still was giving me more than 200% prices. Lmao. Showed lower prices but when I clicked thru everything said sold out but suites. I've done junior suites a couple of times, but full suites too much for a quick get away.

Enchantment still my best choice in the next month... except the cabin choice is even worse. Lol I'm thinking with the good price people called and upgraded and left the worst choices, but I'm healthy and extra walking not terrible.

The other plus is it just goes to key west and coco cay and Bahamas. I'm not wanting to go to further points just this time. Chicken. Key west sounds perfect.

I'd rather liberty but not at more than 200% for solo. Cabins disappear fast. Seems Texans still want to cruise.

Now my cabin choices worse ... but still have Enchantment.

I just cant find anything I'm willing to pay when I click thru on liberty in the next month or so.
