susique333 Posted July 14, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2020 Anybody else booked on Carnival Miracle Oct 16, 2020 Hawaiian Cruise like we are? I just read where a person said their Oct 12 Carnival Miracle cruise to Mexico (which is right before the Hawaii trip) is cancelled, they were told this when they called for a price adjustment. I have a hard time believing this extra long 15 day cruise will be sailing and wondered if anyone has any input!
HaveWeMetYet Posted July 15, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2020 It will not be sailing. Hawaii has already delayed their tourism for land arrivals until September. Cruise ships can forget it until the covid testing and mask wearing is not required. I would not expect to see 15+ day sailings on any of the major cruise lines until 2022. If they need to re position a ship they will do so without passengers.
MaryZ Posted July 15, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2020 I don't know. I called today to ask for our final payment to be changed and they wouldn't allow it. It's a cruise booked thru their casino division. So I have to call back on Monday 7/20 to ask because that is the day final payment is due. It's not much, but I'm not going to give them any more money than they already have. There isn't any possible way with Bermuda's requirements for contact tracing that a ship can port in Bermuda. So I will call back on Monday. Hawaii is pretty strict about quarantine and contact tracing so I doubt that will change before next year.
ober134 Posted July 15, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2020 I have a work related acquaintance who is a traveling medical worker. He was offered a work contract in Hawaii, where he had a travel gig in the past. But after researching the current quarantine requirements, he turned down the contract..... He said the current restrictions were too much of a hurdle to relocate there now. I doubt Hawaii will lessen its position any time soon. And you can't blame them. I can't see cruises resuming in Hawaii in the near future.

DANCING GRANDMOMMY Posted July 15, 2020 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2020 I just read that HI is requiring proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of arrival. Which would be impossible to do from a ship that would be 6 days out from 1st port, 7, 8, 9 and 10 from the rest.
susique333 Posted July 19, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted July 19, 2020 Thanks everyone for your replies. We're just going to go with the flow. I'm certain none of the ships Drs want to be responsible for sick Covid19 people onboard, so really do think they'll be cancelling this cruise. Stay well and happy everybody! Rare Banditswife Posted July 19, 2020 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2020 We have a similar situation. 15 days starting Nov 1, 2020. Final payment is next week, but we paid in advance, because our travel agent said that if we cancel it prior to Carnival canceling it, we would lose our $900 deposit. If we pay for it, & they cancel the cruise, we will get a full refund. Even if that refund takes months to get, we chose to do it that way. I doubt any ships will sail longer cruises this year & possibly next year. We had a B2B canceled in May & received a full refund. The refund did take awhile, but we did get every penny we had pd. I know people are reporting extensive lengths of time to get refunds, but we are willing to risk it, but that is our personal choice. And yes, I do frequently check our roll call, plus the roll call for the cruises before & after ours. None have been active for the past few months.
