@OzKiwiJJjust noticed we are booked on same cruise (if it goes) in October.

The Tassie one? There's a slim chance. If it does go ahead it will be a good cruise to see how we cope with whatever Covid restrictions are in place without the cruise being too long.

We've done that itinerary before but missed the scenic cruising as we had to outrun a storm.

All it takes is a breakout from quarantine, picked up by someone who then attends a superspreader event (like at the Northern Beaches just before Christmas) and you have another big outbreak. The Northern Beaches outbreak was actually quite contained in that it happened right at the far end of the Northern Beaches and didn't really get loose in the rest of Sydney. But if the superspreader event happened in a place where people come to from all over in one of the major cities, and many of those people aren't vaccinated, then those people who have been delaying getting vaccinated are going to panic. What they don't think of is that you don't have the full coverage of the vaccine until two weeks after your second shot, which is 14 weeks after the initial shot.

I must be psychic! 🤣

8 Highly skilled Doctors thank you.

Apologies to all.

But unfortunately a dodgy receptionist. Just rang and queried the 6 week thing and one of the more senior receptionists nearly had a fit when she checked our booking. We are now booked in for the 18th August which is 13 weeks as all the 12 week slots are taken.

Wow, lucky we had this discussion and you decided to check.

13 weeks is not a concern, nor would 6 really

The projected coverage time for the first dose is at least 16 weeks. Much much stronger 2 weeks after the second.

I wonder how many other patients that receptionist booked in for a second shot after six weeks. Presumably someone at the medical practice can check the follow-up dates for all the patients who have had one shot already.

Cool, dodgy receptionist, scary. All good now, 3 month gap, way to go.
