15th Anniversary Cruise - Need Suggestions!

Check out Windstar. Windstar’s sailing ships are small and romantic- they go to ports that the larger ships can’t get into. It’s not quite a luxury line, but the service is wonderful, and food is very good. You can often find great deals in the Caribbean. We did a week on the Windsurf in Dec, 2019 for $999/person.

Windstar do offer great itineraries and good food - but they only have a couple of itineraries (usually only in the Med) of less than a week.   Also, they are probably twice as expensive as Royal Caribbean and other mass market lines.

Sad how some people only seem interested in insulting other people’s suggestions rather than actually providing suggestions themselves to the op. 🙄

Maybe the OP will come back & give more info on budget ?  location?

Let us know if any of the suggestions fit

Sure sounds like a generalized attempt to insult other people's posts --- without any hint of a suggestion to the OP.

Happy Anniversary🙂..if there is any way for you to take a 7 day cruise there would be many more options.

I wish, but I’ve still got a 9, 7, and 4 year old 🙂

Do you live near a cruise port ?  you can save $$ by not having to fly

Did any of the suggestions here  help ?

The problem with a 5 day cruise,  is that you only get 3 full days on board ship. It's hardly worth unpacking!

As others have said, at the very least, try and go for 7 days.

I know, but I still have little ones - 9, 7 and 4 years old. Hopefully, in a couple years! 🙂

OP here. Even though it’s our 15th, we still have little ones - 9, 7, and 4 years old. And although I’d LOVE to do a 7 day (or more) as I have in the past before we had kids, I’m not quite ready to leave them for a week yet - and they’re probably not quite ready for us to be gone for a week either 😁 I think our budget would probably be around $5,000 or less (less would be nice). We live in Ohio, so we’ll probably be flying. Thanks for all of your suggestions so far!!!

On occasion, both Princess and Holland America will have a short cruise, i.e. a coastal cruise positioning their ships from/to Alaska.  Once when the Super Bowl was played in Jacksonville, the Zuiderdam was used as a hotel ship in Jacksonville and had a 4 or 5 day cruise to return her to her "usual" schedule from Port Everglades.  So, the odd-ball itineraries do happen and are almost always very well priced.

If your budget would allow, MSC Yacht Club offers the best of two worlds.  A private enclave with its own Lounge with light evening entertainment, Restaurant, Pool Deck, all inclusive, large suites, and excellent service.  If one would want a bit more activity or a change of dining scene, step outside the YC enclave and there are a plethora of options.  The ships are very large, but their decor is beautiful.

Queen Mary 2 has in the past offered a short cruise from New York each 4th of July week-end to one or two Canadian ports.  Fireworks in either Boston or New York Harbor are always a part of the itinerary.  Those cruises are, I think, usually around 5 days in length.

Happy Planning for a significant Anniversary!

Is there a difference between MSC and MSC Yacht Club? What I mean is, are those two different things?

Five days is a boat ride - not a cruise.

We have to take what we can get right now - and 5 days with no kids is still amazing 😂

Coming from Ohio, you might consider Carnival Magic - out of Norfolk to Bermuda or the Bahamas, or Royal Caribbean - many sailings from Bayonne, NJ to Bermuda plus occasional Carnival, Disney or Norwegian from New York,   -all well within $5,000 and 5 day range.

Yacht Club is a separate class of accommodations on most MSC ships.  Yacht Club is a "ship within a ship" concept for those MSC guests who want that type of service and experience.

You might want to check the web site of MSC for more information.

MSC is a large Italian cruise line , MSC yacht club is a portion of the ship with its own lounge, restaurants, pool, hot tubs and entertainment, many people refer this as a ship within a ship, it also includes, premium drink package, internet, each cabin has a butler. You can do all the other activities the ship offers , your butler will even escort you to the theater in main part , where there are reserved seats . This should easily be in your budget.
