I may have missed something, but, have casinos been cleared to open, after the Covid-19 restrictions?

There may be some restrictions like they have had in Vegas where they limit the amount of players at a table or turn off every other slot machine. Those restrictions are starting to be lifted in various areas of the country at this time.

LOL....

Here is a tip that may help you get better discounts. I don't need to do this as my wife also gambles enough on the ship. Ask for a second players card from the casino cage. They can tie that players card into your account. Have your significant other use that card. It's a little bit of a pain as you can only pull any money out on your actual room key but it makes your play look better and hence you should receive better discounts.

I am a big confused.  So just having a second players card yields better results or is it if two are using the casino.  I never gamble, I may go an watch but it just isn't my thing.  Would it still be useful to have that card?

No.  Only if you do some gambling.

Just for fun, I logged into my Carnival account this morning and I have about 5 difference casino offers!  Same $200 "free" inside w/DOU and $200 OBC.  But another one caught my eye.  And I'll note that this is the very first time I've EVER received a free cabin offer with Carnival, despite he number of times I've sailed and the number of "special" casino sailings I've taken.

On the same cruise, I can pay $375 for that same inside cabin, still get DOU, but I'd get $500 OBC.  Hmmm.  Seems to me that's a better deal.  So, now I'm thinking about adding that to the front of my NA December cruise.  I'd have a day in between and would move from Miami to FLL.

But maybe I should pass.  By the time I add the transportation and another hotel night (and food), it's not such a fantastic deal.

After all this time of no travel, it's all just so tempting!!!

So does HAL also post your casino offers in your online account or are you notified by email?

I have never seen anything in my online account. Everything I receive comes through an email. There is a thread here somewhere in which I post all of the casino insider cruises I receive by email.
Here is the latest offer I received yesterday:

We just booked, we had a free inside room offer, we had to put a $250 pp ( Canadian deposit down that will be a room credit later) and pay $350 ( refundable in taxes) we has a $250 pp future cruise credit from a cruise nothing to do with covid that was expiring so we used it. So really we are only going to be out the $250 cruise credit that was free anyhow if something happens

One of the things about Carnival, is they are VERY transparent with their offers.  When you log in to your account and go to your VIFP page (their loyalty program), they list all your offers.  Everything from "free" casino offer, discounted casino offer, past-guest offer, Early Saver offer, etc.

When you're looking at a sailing while logged in, once you get in and select the type of cabin, the next window pops up and shows the starting price for each of the offers that are available for that sailing.

The one thing I've griped about with HAL is that when I log in and see my price drop, I have no idea why!  Is it a casino offer?  Is it just some sort of past-guest discount?  Can't tell what the offer is until you book and see it shown on your confirmation.  At least I can't tell!

Not to hijack the thread, but, maybe you (or anyone else) can answer my question - Does the level of Casino offers/payback on HAL seem about the same as Carnival?

In particular. this is our situation - we have sailed Carnival a couple of times and the last cruise we played a minimal amount in the Casino (I think $100US on slots which took some time to lose - maybe $300 'played' )  2 or 3 years ago. To this day, I still get Casino offers and they are generally always the best of the offers I get, and some are really good. The payback from leaving $100 in the Casino easily comes back in any offer for a  next cruise for at least that amount (often more)

Would that be similar with HAL? FWIW, we intend to ''test it out' but just curious what folks who have cruised/gambled on both lines have experienced.
