We are loving the Moon despite mask-gate 😂. Just an update if it hasn't been posted already we can now sit at the bar and chat to staff 👍 and there are 299 guests on board. The space and ease of getting a seat in Salt bar is special 😍

Oh wow....they lifted the restrictions to sit at the bar? I bet the bartenders are loving that too!!!🙂

Mr. Luxury, I’m curious if the brass currently onboard have mentioned anything about the Dawn being ready for the 19th of November. Keep on enjoying your cruise.!

It seems unlikely to me that the Greek government cut a deal with Seabourn to allow their passengers to go without masks while requiring Silversea passengers to use masks. The Moon and Ovation hold an almost identical number of passengers, so ship size/passenger count shouldn't be an issue. I would guess that instead, it's the cruise line's own safety protocols. Remember that these companies spent many long months convening panels of medical experts to guide them in developing their return-to-sailing guidelines. Isn't it possible that Silversea's rules are more stringent regarding this issue, or require different benchmarks to be met, in order to drop masks than Seabourn's protocols?

These are great perspectives and I appreciate the experiences of so many of my trusted fellow Seabourn passengers.

 

in addition to the S.A.L.T. Program, we are also interested in the longer post times and multiple overnights on the holiday sailing we are eyeing… if we do have to stay in a bubble, we liked that they had afternoon and evening tour options.  As a lap swimming and track walker, Silversea seems to have better options for working off the extra calories from what looks to be intriguing cuisine.

 

From what I can tell, the casino looks slightly larger and I recall past comparisons suggesting that there is more dancing onboard.  We tend to not be very late night folks (despite being relative youngsters) but I like the concept of the later evening club/small plates concept.
 

I’m curious how other activities compare… we usually play trivia and are often found in Seabourn Square working on the jigsaw puzzle, in the card room playing a game, or curled up somewhere on the ship reading a book or working the daily crossword.  I tend to gravitate toward the afternoon tea and stitching, while my husband checks out the putting green.  Does Silver Moon/Muse offer any of those activities.

Everything is possible regarding developing standards and delivering them, but “less so” regarding health matters without government involvement. However it is the case that Seabourn passengers in Greece and Cyprus do not wear masks on board, I am glad that it is all working so well so far. Of course, who knows for how long this will last, and one pointer will be when Seabourn and regulators within government mandate mask wearing again due to a Covid variant causing mayhem.

 

Like many passengers we spoke to on both ships, we may well have experimented with cruising at an early but propitious time. The next few months could deliver some hard challenges, and I hope that the scientific community and our governments will respond successfully.

Hi, I can remember seeing some folks putting with a staff member. It was inside the ship but for the life of me, I cannot recall where I saw it. And they always offered Trivia in Dolce Vita. It was in the late afternoons. (I think in the 4-4:30 range) but don't quote me.......I never played but happened to walk by that area quite often as my cabin was down the hallway on the same deck (5). I would see people playing on a regular basis.

I always enjoy Trivia and the putting on SS.Always a laugh and good conversation as well as the good natured rivalry.
