Changing someone from one cabin to another is one thing, but changing someone who needs a handicap room to a regular room is all kinds of wrong. They should upgrade you to a bigger cabin so you can get in. You should try contacting C & A and if they can’t help I would even write to Baylee’s office. Sorry I don’t have their info, but I know others do. Hopefully someone will post it.

I spoke to CA,Access Dept and the casino.plus regular reservation dept.Everyone said the same thing NO HANDICAP ROOMS! I spent hours on the phone, even with resolutions dept.Noone could tell me why they would take a handicap cabin away and give me a standard cabin.I will try to make the best of it!!!!Wont know for sure until I get on the ship!!!I really need a cruise!!LOL

Did you fill in a special needs form when you booked the handicapped cabin?

This is so wrong. I really feel for you but I am glad you feel able to go ahead with your cruise regardless. Perhaps Guest Services will be  able to arrange to move you to a larger cabin once you get on board. The ships are sailing with very few guests so I can't believe it wouldn't be possible.

Have a great cruise. :)

Absolutely no OBC was offered, in fact they told us in no uncertain terms take it or leave it, they'll still sell that cabin. RCI doesn't care, no matter what status you have. ...sucks !

RCI aren't  the only ones doing this.

We sailed with MSC on Virtuosa twice over the summer and on both occasions the cabin we picked was changed to a less desirable one closer to sail date but in the same category.

Just happy to be on a ship!

Quite the interesting news, thank you for your post. No doubt we're at the mercy of the Cruise Lines, we either take it or leave it with little recourse.

Received word Monday afternoon that on our upcoming Oasis cruise out of Bayonne that we no longer have our Cat. 2D stateroom, and that we will be notified of the  new cabin very soon. Reason they stated, is that they need to space out the cabins. This is unacceptable where this was booked well over a year ago and paid for the "You Select Your Cabin" price, and not "We Select Your Cabin". Tried to find out why and where the cabin will now be located but the RCI Group Department CLOSED while waiting on hold to speak to them for almost 90 minutes. Has anyone else run into this with their cruise only about twenty days away, if so, what was your outcome?

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Maybe it will be a better cabin!

We are just off the Mariner. We had neighbors in our original cabin so they are not spacing cabins. We asked to be moved and were obliged. In the new cabin we didn't have neighbors. And we didn't move because of the neighbors. But I was a little surprised they did put people in cabins next to each other when there were so many vacancies.

Now we are booked on the allure and looking forward to the cabin we have. Hope they don't move us.

Waiting to talk to the TA sucks...a two hour wait listening to music just doesn't cut it....end result...they aren't obliging.... So, we'll give it more thought when we consider the next cruise and line.
