Mardi Gras embarkation lunch options

Question for those of you recently on board the Mardi Gras.  What are the lunch options one embarkation day other then the lido buffet and guys burgers?  Was CUcina's , Emerils or Pig and Anchor open?  How about the food area n deck 8?  Trying to map out for the first day when the mad rush will be to lido or Guy's. Thanks!

Pig and Anchor was definitely open.  We ate there.  I have heard that Cucina and Chibang were not.  Not too many people found Pig and Anchor on the first day.  I am going on Mardi Gras again next month.  Hoping for Emeril's to be open, but I doubt it.

Big Chicken is open for breakfast and lunch. Pizza Pirate is open 24/7. on sea days you have the Brunch as well.

I can confirm that sadly, Cucina and Chibang were NOT open on embark day...at least not back in October when we cruised.  

We had made a beeline for the Cucina, with visions of that great pasta bar dancing in our heads, but were brutally disappointed.  

We (very briefly) starved before going to Big Chicken, or Guy's Burger Joint, or Pig & Anchor outside, or Blue Iguana Cantina...   There are still so many choices it's hard to count them all.

Avoid the crowd at Big Chicken on embarcation day.  Word is out. Shorter, almost no waiting at Guys but head for Street Eats instead. And if still hungry, grab a taco or 2 at BlueIguana.

if I can get salmon Guys pig , yeah. if not blue iguana for veggie burrito.

1) The Pizzeria 

2) Street Eats (10:30am embarkation day)

3) Piazza Panini (11am embarkation day)

Yep.  

You'll never starve on Mardi Gras before 10 pm.  

After 10 pm, however....   Pizza, sushi ($) until 11pm, room service ($)...and that's all, folks!

my sophomore in college, who loves to eat, will totally hit big chicken. my 17 year old is picky- so she will most likely do just do what big bro does.  Hubby and I are vegetarians so paninis are totally up my alley.
