Live from Sky Princess 12/4/21 - 12/11/21

Sorry I dropped out.. but glad lots of fellow cruisers popped in to answer questions..

To finish off, we had a great cruise.  Food was not a hit in the MDR, but Pizza on the Lido deck at Slice was amazing.  Pizza at Alfredo's was not as good was the general consensus.

Soft serve at swirl NEVER had chocolate, only vanilla and something else like banana custard or pistachio.

Chair hogs were out in full force, and staff did nothing to alleviate it.

Shows in the theater were hit and miss, but the Rock Opera was amazing.

I laughed at every single one of these issues, and carried on having a fun cruise with my family.

Celebrating 50 is just a number not a defining factor, and I'm about to take that on full steam ahead!

If after some observation, no one using the chair(s), I would just remove their stuff and either put it on another chair beside or leave it on the ground.  If anyone came by later, I would tell them their things must have been removed since they were not around (they won't have anything to say and my wording lets them think a Princess employee did it without me saying they did and also does not fib because that is precisely the reason I would have done it).  Another option is to tell them the chair(s) were empty before you sat down (also technically true since you removed their things before sitting down, but they are not informed of that fact and won't know who to blame - but also know they are guilty).

Jedi mind tricks.

Informal conversation is stating it’s the same as now which is 1,300.  It’s pretty empty here. I seem to be on the same schedule as the Captain as he ducks into Take5 to watch the band each night when I’m there. So we’ve been chatting. I’ll inquire at some point without seeming nosey.  😋

Is the ship decorated already?

On the Sky now and we keep calling it a Ghost Ship. It’s beyond quiet, not a bad thing but if you are looking for any sort of vibe, it doesn’t exist.

Fully decorated with Christmas music being played everywhere (restaurants, casino)

It IS decorated but not overly so. There is just the main tree in the piazza and one in the elevator banks before the pools. That’s all I saw anyway. Captain said that they did it themselves this year and didn’t use a company. It’s nice without being too much.

And there are nice other decorations around the ship

I actually really hate these "look at me" type of posts.  Nothing informative and redeeming.  They should be banned - just like COVID threads.  FYI - I never read them.

Beg to differ there was and still is quite a bit of useful, and dare I say, enjoyable content here.

Thanks to all of the folks taking time out of their vacation to answer questions and keep us informed.

Cheers

Says the person posting a negative comment on the thread they didn't bother to read. 🙄🙄🤔🤔

Your opinion that “Live” threads should be banned but I completely disagree. I love the “Live” threads that have been posted! I appreciate the generosity of those who are willing to share their time while they are on vacation. They helped me immensely when I was planning my 2 cruises this year. I felt very prepared on what to expect before, during and after my cruises. I love hearing from others about their experiences. It allows me to follow along and live vicariously through the people who are currently on a cruise. I also appreciate being able to ask questions and get ideas of things I’d like to do when I’m on my next cruise.

@iamaqt2 I know you followed along on my Live thread and I thank you so much for documenting your journey. I enjoyed your photos and I’m happy to hear you had a good cruise to celebrate your 50th. As you so eloquently stated 50 is just a number and not a defining factor. I completely agree and will remember this as I prepare to turn 60 in 2023.

@Ride-The-WavesFor future reference please don’t bother to read any thread that has the word “Live” in it since you claim you don’t want to read this type of material on CC. But still a mystery on why you read this one since you claim you don’t read them?

I fully  support the "Live from" threads; they give helpful current knowledge, let those of us ashore enjoy the cruises vicariously, as well as build our pre-cruise excitement. I'm having trouble waiting to start our "live from" for our mid-March Majestic B2B! ❣️🥂

I’m looking forward to your “live from” in March as we are seriously looking at doing one or two cruises on the Majestic in April. I really fell in love with that ship when we cruised on her in August. I love the Hollywood Pool and Hollywood Conservatory areas.

We are excited about her too. Looking forward to the "Hollywoods" so much! It'll be great to have a Sanctuary type area without Sanctuary prices. There seems to be so much to love about Majestic, Your "live from" really gave us a lot of helpful info too!

Wow!  Someone needs a hug.

I have confirmed that the next few sailings will have roughly the same 1300 passenger number. They will go up again in January they say.

I’ll post some thoughts on things that I had issues with but not until I get home. Totally enjoying this cruise and will continue to do so. You all should too without my opinion making you think otherwise.

Surprising. I would have thought there would be more passengers on the holiday cruises.
