Surprise charge, $100, upgraded to balcony!

I notice a charge pending in my checking account for $100 from RC, can't figure out what it is. Start going through my email today and I have a receipt to download.... bingo!!! $50 a person I bid on for a balcony room on December 23rd Mariner of the seas went through! Merry Christmas ⛄🎄!

I got my upgrade on our sold out cruise. Will never do it again because I got downgraded instead 😵‍💫.

I had dragged my feet when originally booking, wanted to book a balcony, but by the time I booked they were sold out. The suites were over $2000 per person, so that wasn't gonna happen.  I went with a promenade view room which sounded fun, never had done that before.  I bid the minimum, since I was really ok with the promenade view.  Surprised I got it....but then again, they are not at full capacity, so I can see how they are trying to make a few extra $$$  with this process.
