Fully Obstructed Balcony Cabins at the Rear of Britannia

Toying with the idea of booking a saver fare to the Caribbean for sometime on the next few weeks, but have a few questions:-

What are the fully obstructed view balconies at rear of Britannia like?

Do we still get share benefit on saver fares, and if so how long before would we need to apply for it?

Not sure of we would go for Britannia or Azura, so any comments re that choice would be very welcome?

We have never booked a saver fare with P&O for fear of being allocated a very badly placed cabin, so are slightly uncertain about this, but for the prices we are currently thinking it could be better than a British winter, wherever the cabin is positioned.

We had an obstructed balcony cabin on Britannia a few years ago and although the view was limited, it meant we could open the doors and get some fresh air.You still get share benefit on Saver Fares. We prefer Britannia to Azura though Azura has larger balconies. We like the fact that on Britannia there are glass doors rather than a curtain in the shower and everything is newer. We also like The Limelight Club on Britannia though you do have to pay for that.I would be happy to go on either ship on a Saver Fare

Our favourite P and O ships are Britannia and Aurora

Hi....we always book select ....like to choose our cabin position etc but just had a quick look at a cruise to the Caribbean departing end of this month and the price difference between saver and select is nearly a £1000 pp so for that price difference I would take a risk but possibly upgrade to a unobstructed cabin for an extra £100 pp

If you do book ensure you apply for your shares straight away as there used to be a time limit and sometimes they are a bit slow applying them, there might even have been a time limit, not sure now. To be honest any cabin would do me, as you say better than being stuck at home and you may get lucky especially if the ship isn't full. Sometimes you just have to pay your money and take your chances.

Here is a link to the Shareholder Benefit page of the 2021 Carnival US Annual Report that includes application details:

Thanks for the replies everyone, I did look up the share benefit, so knew it was three weeks before which is not a problem for the date we are considering, though obviously that is not a deal breaker anyway.  It is very much something that came up after our meal (and liquid accompaniment) last night.  In the "sober" light of day I am not so sure, so we will likely leave it until tonight and see how we feel then.

DH is still asleep and we have planned to make the most of the promised full sunshine today and take ourselves out to Chester for the day (though the sun not appeared yet).  We have started to go out and about more than we have since the onset of the pandemic and are enjoying that as well.  Went to Llandudno at the end of last week and the bright sunlight was very cheering compared to all the rain and very dull days we have had earlier this winter and with little or no wind, it was not cold either so spent quite a while walking at the top of the Orme.
