Carnival Mardi Gras collection of funtimes, menus, various pdfs

thought i'd share all the menus, funtimes, and various other documentation i found aboard carnival mardi gras, during my sailing last week in a spa balcony.

missing a few menus, such as limelight lounge, tides pool bar, piano bar, serenity pool bar.
not sure if these exist digitally: guy's burger, seafood shack, blue iguana, street eats, pizzeria, panini, java blue.

tips for the mardi gras:

embarkation day offers on-site covid testing for $100/per, inside of check-in area, if your results don't come in on time for whatever reason.

on 1st 2 nights, rudi's and steakhouse both offer 50% off any bottle of wine.

last 2 sea days, bolt roller coaster fills up. go early if you're interested.

closed toe shoes required for bolt and ropes course (can't miss mini zip line, and walk the plank).

earn 1500 pts in the casino, for comped drinks from server (can't get directly from casino bar).

deck 17 spa cabins have direct/separate elevator access to spa on deck 5.

street eats menu changes daily, but it may be closed on port days or limited hours.

don't sleep on the shawarma and seadogs stations inside lido buffet.

my favorite vantage point for center stage, is from deck 7.

family feud is a great addition to the entertainment lineup.

i used MCO airport/hotel shuttle to port terminal:

currently non-smoking in the casino, through Jan 31. enjoy it while you can, I sure did.

get to shows at least 15min early, if you want decent seats.

unfortunately, backyard band wasn't performing on my sailing, but the other live musicians were good.

I thought this was by appointment only? Or can it be used without appointment on an emergency basis?

Also good to go early because wind or weather can cause it to shut down.

I saw that on the deck plans and thought it was nifty.  Dedicated express elevator to the spa!

It was always worth a walk by whenever I was crossing Lido Deck.  There were some days when nothing appealed (all seafood, which I don't "do"), but I got daring and tried a few things and really liked them.  The bulgogi beef is one example.

I expanded my epicurean horizons by trying the shawarma.  And I was very pleased -- reminds me of a Greek gyro.   

As for Seadogs, I had been on ships before that allegedly had one up by the Sports Deck, but I never found them when they were open.   🙂   I was glad to actually get a chance to try it on Mardi Gras and it was good.

Thanks for posting, we're sailing on Mardi Gras later this year.

 

I had a look at the menu for Chibang, it looks very disappointing. I'm a big fan of JiJi on Horizon and Vista but with most things fusion, hybrid or whatever term they call it it's a compromise so dilutes the thing that makes it appealing.

ChiBang is really good, definitely worth a try.  We were there multiple times in a week.

i didn't try the chinese side of the menu. the mexican dishes weren't to my liking

i didn't plan to use on-site testing service, but turned out i needed it last minute, so they do offer it as emergency backup (there were others in same scenario). cannot book same day appointment. i just inquired about it at check-in.
