Exciting event today! Captain came on the loudspeaker and announced a probable ship in distress, dead in the water and no communication.  As we got close to the boat we could see what appeared to be a makeshift boat that was overcrowded..

The boat appeared to not have any engine,  and since we were between Florida and Cuba, we thought it was probably you-know-what

The emergency crew got ready with ropes and seemed to be readying a lifeboat...

After an hour still in the water with lots of crew activity we got conflicting info from the casino staff,  some saying the 7 or 8 people were brought onboard to stay in isolation until authorities disembark them when we return,  others saying they refused to board...

I assume they refused based on the "dry feet / wet feet" policy.....

Someone on another thread recommended "don't sleep on the shawarma" which caught my eye. Tried it today and thanks to whomever that was,  it was great! Much,  much  better than the bland meat pies we paid extra for at Emeril's and FREE! I asked them to put the thousand island dressing on the side and IMO it is much better without.

The roast beef and broiled potatoes looked really good  but I didn't try it...

Last night I had a really good night at the casino,  thanks to pocket rockets, full houses and flushes, but the highlight was quad fives. I won about $900.

I noticed on jimbos thread where it looked like they gave them gas and the cubans went on their way.

I saw that too. Someone in the casino said "gave them gas and contacted authorities".

Hard to believe they make a trip on a boat like that. The roast beef looked like my kind of cut enjoy.

The captain just announced we'll be arriving at Port Canaveral early, around midnight.  Unfortunately that means casino closes early.

Just so you know I don't think it's Thousand Island Dressing but Tahini Sauce.

I've had and love tahini sauce,  but you're probably right that it's Carnival's attempt at tahini. Anyway,  it looked and tasted like poor quality thousand island dressing to me. But otherwise it was really great.

What gifts have you gotten as part of the premier cruise?  My June cruise on the Mardi Gras is a premier cruise as well.

Wonder if it has anything to do with impending big storm on the East coast.  You may be spending a day or 2 more in Florida.

That's what I was wondering.  I don't think it would be weather related - except it's going to drop into the low 40s here overnight and I'm not happy about that.

I was wrong - it is weather related, strong winds are expected.  MG isn't the only one coming back early.
