Carnival Mardi Gras - 1/22 Sailing live

The narrower room doesn't bother me at all. Nice job by Carnival to get more revenue (cabins) per sqft of available cabin space.  The larger flat screen tv is nice too. The sofa next to the balcony makes the living area feel more roomy with the curtain open.

I hand wash things I want to wear twice on the cruise because I have endured the personal loss of a loved tshirt due to Carnival's free laundry-butchers' shrinkage and graying too much. Who puts dry towels on a  rack between the tooth-brusher and shaver and the wet sink? These towels were both pretty wet by the time I washed this shirt.

Out of curiosity Beth, what is cold to you?  Below 60? Below 50?

Right now it's 30 and sunny, but after midnight will be single digit wind chill.

That's what I was thinking!  I walked from the hotel to the ship in shorts, short sleeves and was fine.  Coming from 18, 50 feels like heaven,  even with the clouds and intermittent rain.

I'm a Floridian, born and raised - 60 is dang cold!  lol  This morning we went to Costco dressed in jeans, long sleeved shirts and hoodies.  And shoes!!  I hate shoes, I'm a flip flop girl.  But it's all relative. It's cloudy and gloomy here right now but if it was 60 and sunny I'd be sitting at the tiki bar at Grills (still dressed for winter).  But instead I'm sitting inside in sweatpants with a pot of chili on the stove waiting for football to start.  🤣

Right now the entire casino is non-smoking. I'm sure Carnival has a good reason,  but to me the separation between the non-smoking casino and smoking casino seems big enough. I'm wondering if this will chase the smokers to the nonsmokers side and I won't be able to find a seat at a table,  with the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling views of the ocean,  instead of the smoker's view of lifeboats...😁🏴‍☠️

If you play slots play in the smoking side i was on the MG  in september there were so many large jackpot on our Premier Cruise most were on the smoking side. There were at least 7 $10,000 jackpots a $13,000 $12.000 and many over $1200 no joking never seen so many jackpots on one cruise

It's all a matter of perspective as to what you're used to.  The first day in March it hits 50 we are in shorts, whereas the first day in November it hits 50 for you, you're in your winter coat.

But, chili is something we can agree about.  I think the Chiefs/Bills game tomorrow will be the best of the four games this weekend.

Big Chicken was our first stop after dropping off luggage in the room. It was yummy,  on a par with Chick-fil-A, maybe not quite as good. But juicy white meat instead of substandard oily buffet and MDR chicken is a great improvement!

That was our first meal on MG last month and I thought the same thing.  It was really good, but better than Chick Fil-A?  Nah, probably not.  The next morning I had a chicken biscuit for breakfast and I thought hmm, this MAY be as good as Chick Fil-A. Third time I ate there, I had the tenders, no biscuit - JACK POT!  The chicken all by itself is the best chicken I've ever had in my life and I'm trying to figure out how to get Shaq to open one in Cape Canaveral. 😍

I want Shaq to open a Big Chicken in Charlotte, NC.  For me, it's the best chicken wings down (see what I did there🤣)!

Did you have one naked?   I'm looking forward to a Shaq Attack grilled.

As others have posted,  the balconies below are subject to higher balconies voyeurism

Yeah, I don't like that.  We were on deck 12 but we were in 12411 on the back end of the second bump out.  We looked down on the smoking area on deck 8 but not into anyone's balconies.

The bathroom is tiny (sink seems smaller too) and that does bother me on several levels...

1. Although the shower door is an improvement over the clingy shower curtains,  you can see right through the door  so my daughter and I can no longer share bathroom use if one of us is showering.

2. I'm not a big guy, 5-10, 205 and my elbows are bumping the door and shower door when I'm drying off. I feel bad for 300-pounders in this bathroom.

My daughter says the light-encircled mirror provides much better makeup lighting than previous ships.

I am thinking 🤔 it would work well for you to apply your superhero make up as well 😉...
