Change to Puerto Rico Entry Requirement

Recommended Posts

There are reports that the entry testing requirement for Puerto Rico will change 2Feb.  Vaccinated travelers will no longer need to show proof when arriving.  Still need negative test result to board ship.  https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/2022/01/28/travel-restrictions-puerto-rico-covid/9257694002/  This is a USAToday article.  Has anyone seen an official statement?  I've checked.  There's a reference to the change at the Discover Puerto Rico site but not sure that's an official statement from a PR governmental agency.  TIA.

That appears to be accurate. The article links to the Governor's announcement on Twitter (in Spanish) which says the same. The official tourism site for PR says: "As of February 2nd, vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to present a negative test. Unvaccinated travelers entering on domestic flights will still be required to show negative test results from the last two days or take one within 48 hours of arrival and must quarantine while awaiting results." https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/

We'll be on a B2B mid March on Explorer.

I saw this on the San Juan boards last night. But we're vaxed/boosted.

We'll be doing a pre-cruise arriving on a Friday for a Sunday sail and hoping we don't have any problem with internet at our hotel to do our covid test for the ship requirement. No time to take it at home before leaving for LAX for our early flight so a bit stressed about that.

Also how soon do we need to fill out the travel form if arriving on March 18th ?

This is why I’m uncertain.  Discover Puerto Rico is a tourism board.  Notes Feb 2 change.  www.travelsafe.pr.gov is a PR Dept of Health site.  No mention about change to testing requirement.

I read the governor’s amendment to legislation and it says visitors are ok as long they have their vaccine. If is not vaccinated they need a 48 clear covid test or a doctors certification that you had covid in the last 3 months.

Now, they identified a vaccinated person as one that have received the booster. (not sure if this applies to visitors)
