RFID Wow Band

Can someone tell me if Royal Caribbean is still selling RFID wrist bands instead of having to use your sea pass card? Thanks!

Don’t think so, though some reported being able to use old ones.

They are no longer selling them, but we were able to get old ones we brought with us re-programmed as Biker mentioned. This was on Anthem in Dec.

Harmony in December was able to reprogram mine.

So did they just stop using them and back to sea pass cards only issued to new guests?   I guess our old ones will be souvenirs.

Are those the bands you are given in Star Class?  I am not good with initials (RFID?).

Radio frequency identification.  You don’t swipe your key card anywhere, you just present it and it will unlock the door, you can make charges, etc.  it’s the little chip in most credit cards.  A lot of ships are upgrading to RFID, and I am thankful that I will no longer reprogram my key when it gets next to my cell phone.

 

they were selling the bands if guests wanted them in addition to the room key.  Anyone could have bought one, not just star class.

Yes. They had Star Class bands on Harmony for the 1/16/2022 cruise.  Also, if you have an old band go to Guest Services and they will re program for you.

Guest services refused to reprogram ours on Oasis 1/2/22 cruise.  I’ll still bring them again on our Symphony cruise in April.

I think they were standard issue for sky class too.  That is where we got ours as I recall.  I know I didn’t by one for my 1 year old, but I have one for her.  So they must have been given to us.

I think they figured having you wear the covid band was enough for now. Wearing both could have been too much.
